Okay so brought the car in to have them push the mirror in but they say one of the small white rod sticking out (that goes into one of the small slot) is broke off So the mirror cannot be pushed back in. The entire mirror needs to be replace, which cost $668. Is this true? Seems outrageous for a small piece to effect the whole thing. I actually save the small white piece that fell off, but didn’t realize it would prevent the mirror from being pushed back in.

The piece is super tiny so superglue won’t work, tried it. So I take a closer look and figure out the problem. When I yanked the mirror out, the plastic piece came out. Only the mirror should pop out. So I pry the piece out from the mirror and now I can see it will be much easier to pop the mirror back in. However, the plastic piece won’t go back in since I kinda mangled it when I forced it back in. Probably need to secure the white piece somehow (or find a replacement if I could) and the mirror should pop right in. Live and learn. Thanks all.

I haven't looked at internals of the mirror but you may be able to get the internals from the used part market

Might even luck out with a cheap one that has a damaged casing but everything else intact inside

Yeah I’ll have to look for that part if it’s available. But I did manage to screw the piece back, though unable to adjust left and left due to the missing rods. It looks fine now for the time being, and applying the mirror is a snap now that I know how it works. Thank you all for your comments.

Default Side view mirrors & driver's seat

Every time I sit in my car with the ignition off and move my driver's seat back,I loose my side view mirrors settings.I have to readjust the mirrors all over again. Is there a way I can adjust my driver's seat without loosing the mirrors settings?

Unlike my Infiniti the mirrors don't follow me with additional adjustments of the seat.

Are you using memory setting #2 in vehicle? Perhaps you could utilize that setting for mirrors in the driver seat back mode. Seat, steering wheel and mirrors should all be set to a memory position.

If I am totally off on wrong tangent let me know and clarify for me.

Thanks!

Are you referring to the memory setting #2 for the second driver?

It looks like the 2010-2013 can save the tilt down positions... Can anyone with a 2014+ save the tilt down position settings?

Default Removing the mirrors

Anyone know if removing the mirrors on GX is the same as this video on the LS 460? Steps in FSM are incomplete.

Rig is really dirty today....might wash it if the weather holds out.

Mirror does come off easily like first video. It seems quite secure when I popped back on as well.

The white compound looked more like something for anti-rattle than an adhesive.
