Strange Odor
After driving my 2007 SC for a distance, when exiting the car, there is a slight smell and the best I can describe it is it smells like a hot iron. No odor of burnt oil at all. There is no odor inside the car or through the vents, and no odor under the hood. It is right at the side of the car by the driver and passenger doors. It has to be from under the vehicle and the odor started suddenly about a month ago and has not gotten any worse. Could this be the catalytic converter or transmission? No warning lights are on and all else seems normal, Hvac/temp gauges, etc.
Any thoughts? Thank you guys.

Could be your brakes.

If you look at this picture, the CATS are just about where you smell the smell. You might want to look into it. Some of the symptoms of a blocked cat is reduced gas mileage, sluggishness and a Check Engine Light. One way you can do a very basic check is to tap them with a hammer and see if they rattle. If they rattle, it means the honeycomb materiel inside has started to crumble.
P.S. Don't worry about the braces being in the way. Stock SC430s don't have them
