I had all four of my wheels refinished this week. The work was done by a third party hired by my Lexus dealer. I just got the car back and the wheels look great but I swear they look like "pure" silver whereas I feel as if the original color was more closely (although not directly) matched to Atomic Silver. The service manager, who I know very well and footed the bill for this work, is sure the refinisher purchased the proper paint but I'm not convinced.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to verify the color, short of finding another IS350 with the wheel and looking at them side by side?
These are the staggered 18 inch wheels, not base 17" or F-Sport wheels.
Actually, these do a good job of showing how close the wheel color is to Atomic Silver.
Looks like they are going back for round #3. In some way's I've become the service customer from hell but it's all self-inflicted by the dealer's vendor.
Update: Got the dealership to refinish them a second time, this time in Lexus Gun Metal.
Definitely the right color now. Although I'm still not convinced they used the correct "satin" clearcoat (or whatever it is they use as the top coat) but they look great and I don't have the energy to take the discussion any further.
