A new place opened right next to where I live. Prices are very competitive and actually cheaper compared to other car services around here. Which I think was a smart move. I mean, would you call a place and have them send you a 1998 Lincoln Town Car or you'd rather ride in a Lexus LS ?
My only issue with this, is how will this affect the image of the brand? Now that their cars are used as taxis ? Thoughts?

and of course,
Image of the brand? I don't think MB taxis in Europe have tarnished that brand.
Why didn't they order a fleet of black cars and class it up a bit??? That looks tacky IMO.
And around here, the big thing in the limo/black car business is the big black Escalade/Suburban/Denali/Expidition/Navigator. There are still a few sedans and Town Cars used by the limo companies, but they're almost all now SUV's, because you can seat more people.

Not sure, I guess they wanted to stand out. All limo cars in NYC are black.
We also have those big limo SUV's, but getting around NYC in those dinosaurs is problematic.

There is at least one fleet of black cars (all airport limos are black) here in the Greater Toronto Area (Ontario, Canada) that uses ES Hybrids and they seem to be replacing the Lincoln Town Cars. The big black SUV limos are so few and far between as to be almost non-existent.
It was nice to be driven back home from the airport last summer in a familiar ES rather than one of the falling-apart Town Cars.

While Germany and Switzerland used (haven't been there in a while) an almost-exclusive fleet of MB E-Class as taxis, they would not be recognized as luxury cars, not with their gaudy cream colour, thick vinyl seat coverings, spartan interiors and small diesel engines. They were also starting to use a large number of Toyota Avensis models in their taxi fleets when I was last there.
E and S-classes are commonly used as taxis and airport limos in Europe. They're almost all diesels too. That's not necessarily a bad thing because those cars last for ages. I haven't seen any Lexus cars being used as taxis apart from hotel limos, but an ES hybrid would be a good choice because of the huge rear seat space and good fuel economy.
Yikes. I'd be okay with the white if they didn't plaster their stickers all over the place. One little sticker on each rear quarter panel would of done the trick.
