Default 1997 sc300 out for the spring

Well guys, it's been a long but mild winter. We have been busy getting the SC ready for the spring. Even though we aren't quite there yet, here's a few pics to get us started.

Car started out completely stock when I bought it a few years ago and I put 600 miles on it in 3 years.

This winter I decided it was time. The interior was a factory black/tan combo so i didn't have to change any upper parts to black (thank you) but i did change all the bottom parts. Kept the tan carpet, seats, and headliner (think mkiv supra). Then I swapped in some 93-96 supra front seats. I added a 3 spoke gs steering wheel. LED lights in the doors, trunk, dome light and license plate lights.

Exterior is 245/40/18 michelin super sports on some Falken 18x8 custom painted in our body shop a black base coat with a bronze top coat, 4 coats, then a flat clear. turned out nice until we can get some ccw's on there. Added Stance coil overs, supra LCA's, LS400 front brakes with slotted rotors, painted calipers black. Painted all chrome moldings black with trim paint. re-painted car factory 202. removed all badges and installed a trunk with no spoiler.

More mods to come... 2jzgte sitting around... debating on gte or na-t. thought shortly about a 1jz/r154 setup... not in a hurry. I'll k My son loves it. He's almost 5 :-)

Car looks minty fresh. You got some quality tires on there too! I like the color of the wheels, although they could be a bit wider.

Why didint you shave the antenna when you repainted the car? I did that to mine, and its a cleaner look.

Otherwise, car looks great! I love the blacked out grill and window trim on a black car

Looking really clean man!

600 miles in the last 3 years? What's up with that? Is it because it sat in the shop for all the paint work, etc.?

The tires are awesome... the wheels were sitting around so I painted them and used them temporarily. I will go 285/35/18 in the rear when the new wheels come in.

I didn't shave the antenna because, actually, it was an after thought. I also didn't want to remove the factory radio at this point. Looking back on it now, I totally should have filled it in.

Dimitry, thank you. it's getting there... ccw's will be on soon because of your car mainly. the classics look so clean! Did you get yours tuned yet? when you do, make sure you stop by the store and take me for a ride!

600 miles... It is an extra car for me. The body work only took about 2 weeks after work and in between customer cars. It was fully disassembled cause I wanted to do it right. removed windshield, bumpers, trim, etc... Just need to find a big win lip or suck it up and order it from Japan. UNLESS, you want to sell me yours! I just never drive it. I intend to, but i only live 2 miles from work. So even when I take it home and back to the shop it adds 4 miles a trip. Maybe I'll get the car out more this summer. Want to get the swap or na-t done and then i'll probably drive it more!

I do have one... it's an aristo vvti with auto... not exactly my first choice but i picked it up rather inexpensive. If money was no concern I would go the route of non vvti 2jzgte with v160 following in the footsteps of dimitry (97-sc300) swapping out the tunnel and doing everything right. (can you tell I have a crush on his build??) I just want to make sure that when I swap (or na-t) that I have no regrets. If I find a v160 in the right price range, i'll pull the trigger. I just can't justify 9k on an engine/trans right now that will still need about 3k to swap it in (not including a tt diff). Decisions, decisions. I decided that I would get the chassis ready first and then decide on the swap. side note, the gixxer_drew suspension is working great on my sc400 after i straightened the mount. thanks again for that.

No extreme camber, no spoiler (love the clean trunk lid), conservative drop, by far one of my faves on CL.

thanks! Yeah, i want it to be a good looking driver that i don't have to worry about. inner edge wear, rubbing, bottoming out over bumps... not for me anymore. there was a time when i thought lower was better. that was about 15 years ago lol I need to get some pictures of the interior up here soon. It looks really nice and conservative in there too
