Price for four-wheel alignment?
So, when I took my LS to the dealer on Monday for the squeak that turned out to be a five-second fix I told them about the alignment. It pulled slightly to the right.
I decided to have the dealer do the alignment just in case they came up with another unforeseen problem since it's still under warranty. Alignment was $177. Thought it was a bit high but chose to get it done at the same time anyway figuring that the dealer, if anyone, would do it right and I was already there.
How much should one expect to pay for a competent alignment at an independent shop?

I had one done on my 460 at the Toyota dealership for $125.

I got my car aligned at Longo, but I had a "family" discount... $60 I was shocked how much I was saving. Dropped the car off on Saturday, they were really busy and couldn't schedule for that days service. So they gave me a loaner car, brand new RX for the weekend...

175 does seems high. Did they sneak in a tire rotation or wheel balance? I believe the going rate in the Chicago metro area for just an alignment is around $150, so I'm not sure about regional variance. I just acquired a '13 CPO LS 460 that needed an alignment and I refused to pay the full price because it was just aligned by the selling dealership elsewhere. They didn't get it right the first time for whatever reason and I argued that it should have been done correctly during the "rigorous" certification process. Had to debate with the manager a bit, but ended up agreeing on $50 otd.

This ranges. I happen to know someone who I trust at a Meineke, inspected their gear, lifetime done @ $159.
My Toyota dealer does this at $79. Lexus in Dallas area charges ~$119.

I'm all for saving some dough and getting an alignment at the Toyota dealer. Was just wondering if the Lexus dealer's equipment or "rack" is any different. I'm guessing no. But as long as the end result is a properly aligned vehicle, saving $ definitely is good thing.

All my cars have had alignment done at NTB. As I keep my cars for a long time, I have usually purchased the 5 year alignment program, cost has been ~$240 after tax. Good for 5 years from the date of purchase, unlimited miles.
The one-time alignment with 500 miles warranty is $79 i believe.

The coupons say "Toyota only". I wonder if the Lexus will qualify for the low Toyota rate.

There's very limited things you can adjust. No camber adjustment. Just toe and caster I believe. You shouldn't be charged a lot for the car. I had the car aligned at big-o tires once and they tried to charge me this inflated amount because it was a luxury car. I asked why and they said just because of the type of car. So then I had to rip the guy a new one and asked them to point out what makes aligning the 460 different from aligning my CRV? I had them put it back on the alignment rack and actually show me why the extra money. He couldn't. I told the guy I wasn't your average customer and wasn't going to be taken advantage of. He then refunded me all my money because I was getting loud and letting all the customers in the waiting room know they were probably charging them for stuff they shouldn't be getting done. Haha.
