They never should have gotten rid of the old emblem IMO, new one looks far more plain and boring by comparison and is a prominent styling element.

It's also cheaper to manufacture. Never underestimate the power of cost-cutting in the auto industry, even with small items.

The logo change has nothing to do with cost cutting. The cost to redesign and retool for the new emblem is more than any marginal cost savings to make it and apply it.

agree though, preferred the old emblem although I'm warming up to the new one.

Cadillac's old symbol definitely looked more regal to me so I still miss it.

Eh...I think the interior is price appropriate.

Have you sat in the car? That interior is appropriate for a $75,000+ car? Way nicer cars you can buy for $75,000.

Like I said, it's fine at $65,000, but doesn't hold up in the TT level.

C&D rates the cars in this segment in this order: A8, S Class, 7 Series, CT6, Maserati Q, Jag XJ and LS.

Opinions will vary, but another source of information.

The post I quoted was talking about the LS.

Oh about the LS. Yeah the LS interior is very nice but its not class leading anymore. Its significantly nicer than the interior in the CT6.

The new one is simpler and cheaper to produce, but I agree that it is probably not a significant factor in total-vehicle cost-cutting.The reason I said never underestimate cost-cutting, though, in my last post, is that it is indeed taken to such small issues.

No offense but you also think having the speedometer in the center of the dash is cost cutting too ignoring the reality of all the other stamping changes that need to be made to move the steering wheel from one side of the dashboard to the other

The logo change is not cost cutting. Changing the logo costs money, it doesn't save money.

No offense taken. Proving it either way, I admit, will be difficult because neither of us are privy to all of the documents, records, and invoices involved in the design of any particular vehicle. So, IMO, not worth going on and on about. Anyway, it doesn't affect the thread-topics, either.......the CT6 and LS.

I may (?) have to come out to your neck of the woods (or out to Landover) to actually get the CT6 test-drive done. The roads are all screwed up with traffic, construction, gravel, and repaving around Arlington, and Chantilly doesn't have enough CT6s in stock to really choose from.

I'm not a big fan of the new emblem either. Although I honestly think the new one would look pretty cool with the V under it, like from the 50's/60's/70's
