I'm getting ready to go to the full Invidia cat back exhaust system when I get home. Just bought the mid pipe to go with the axle back setup that's already on the car. It should arrive this Thursday, hopefully I'll be back home by the end of the month.

Nice, make sure to post a sound clip video when you get it installed.

Will do, it sounds good with just the axle back exhaust. They claim the resonators in the mid pipe are supposed to prevent the drone sound. I will report back on that as well. Both mid pipe and axle back are 70mm which should improve flow.

I didn't notice any drone with my delete. I wonder if anyone else has experienced any drone with theirs.

I believe the guy in this thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...a-exhaust.html) has. But this one is with the Invidia axle back paired with deleting the stock resonators. I wonder if the drone is introduced with this type of combination?

Can you elaborate on your X pipe? Did they cut off the twin resonators and weld an X pipe in place? Do you have pictures and sound clip with this combo?

I can make a sound clip but i don't have a lift. The muffler shop I went to welded an x pipe in replace of my resonators. You might have to call them and have them order it, it should be pretty cheap. It connects the two exhaust in the shape of an X where the resonators originally would be to create better flow. You can ask for an H pipe, an X pipe, or just straight pipes. It's all up to you, but I was told the X pipe creates more flow than the H. Looks something like this...the top one is a magnaflow X pipe

I removed my resonators on my 2002 gs300 and it sounds good but there is definitely raspiness don't let anyone tell you there isn't. Put it this way.....I won't be doing it on my 2014 gs350. Better off buying an exhaust

Mjn88 i'm confused There's a factory x pipe before the resonators. Do you have 2 x pipes? Or did you also remove the factory x pipe?

I believe that year has a completely different exhaust system. I did it on my is250 and my new gs and have not noticed any raspiness. I would purchase an exhaust however i'm not the type that likes to attract too much attention so it's not for me.

This might help with pictures Can someone confirm which part (A and/or B, and/or any other part in between) was modified and how?

A is your catalytic converters, B are the resonators, that is cut off and 2 straight pipes are welded in its place.

I think a custom X pipe would have to be created due to the angles the 2 pipes are running. Correct me if I am wrong.

nope, you just cut them off and weld in some pipes. Pretty simple, weight savings too
