On her way to play tennis, my wife put her jug of water on the back seat and it leaked. The pic. shows the result. I've tried Lexol but it didn't touch the problem. Before I do battle with the dealer, has anyone ever run into anything like this before?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Usually water on leather might discolor it for a few minutes...till the absorbed water dries, after it usually darkens up again. Assuming this is not the case....?
Yikes. Not even sure what to say, but you may consider posting this in the detailing forum. There are some pretty knowledgeable members in there when it comes to leather.
Jug of water? That stain is too widespread to come from just a jug of water.
All that staining looks like it likely came from the fabric dye in someone's new and never washed [navy] clothing that was wet from sweat or having been rained on.
Are you sure your wife didn't give someone (that was real sweaty) a ride home after playing tennis?
I'm not so sure even a leather expert will be able to get that [dye] stain out...
I play a lot of golf...and it can get plenty hot in Texas. I use a temporary seat cover when I'm all sweaty even though my interior is black. This is what I use.
▼ Not my car, but this seat cover is like the one I have.
Now, I don't know her, and i don't want to call your wife a liar, but i think she spilled something else and isn't telling you what because of embarassment / etc. It's purple.
