So when i turn on my AC it blows cold air for 5 seconds, then the compressor shuts off, cold air ends. When i do the diagnostics, I get the errors 21 & 24. So here is what i've done so far:
First i had the AC charged. -No change.
Next i replaced the AC / Mag clutch Relay (fuse) - No change
i'm not sure what i can do now except take it in to the shop. What do you all think?
When it was charged: Who did it? A HVAC technician? How much gas did it need? Was it leak tested? Did it blow cold after the charging? If so, how long? Minutes, hours, days, weeks? Were gauges used while recharging? Were the pressures normal?
......I'm with Bon on this one, if it was done by using proper gauges,equipment,etc.....then they should be able to give you a good answer to your problem. The gauges will read the pressure & your mechanic will be able to diagnose most issues
AH HA! So there is old school code reading in the A/C system. Unfortunately both of those codes are related to being parked in the shade and are pretty worthless.
My guess is he overcharged his system and the high pressure safety switch is cutting out (What you guys said)
Interesting. I just had this problem as of a few weeks ago. Same codes 21 and 24. My AC runs for a few minutes and then goes warm, though the compressor and everything else appear to be running.
Things that appear to be working for me:
Both radiator fans run,
the compressor clutch works and the compressor is turning,
The low pressure side is reading high -- around 150psi
