What do you think is the worst Lexus ever made?
ES250. Nothing but a badge.

It was supposed to be. The rear seats were added to avoid a $2000 tariff on 2-seater coupes.

agreed. the HS was far more refined and handled better than the CT though. unfortunately, the HS made jar jar binks look handsome.

Hard to make a case that the ES350 is the second worst Lexus when it's the second highest selling.
this is people's opinions, not what has sold well.

keep telling yourself that. lexus/toyota are certainly very reliable, but tons of owners of other brand vehicles have no issues either. have other brands had duds? sure. has lexus had an unreliable vehicle? no, although some models have had excessive creaks/squeaks but nothing to leave an owner stranded.

I actually liked that first gen ES250. Perhaps I'm the only one.

Yes the first gen (V20) ES 250 produced from 1989-1991 (MY90-91). Aimed at the Acura Legend.

The 250 was a stopgap car that dealers wanted at launch, that's one reason why it was such a rebadge.

I will agree, there are a lot of brands that owners have had no issues and satisfaction is top notch. The luxury segment is different, many people own multiple cars and the kms don't get added up, and the rich don't always keep their cars forever. Buying a $100K S-Class is a risky proposition once the warranty runs out so you are better off buying a Lexus....But leasing these vehicles makes more economic sense to me as I would rather have half the cars worth sitting in the bank than tied up in a car.

Nope, I like the car as well. The car is comfortable, reliable and has a very nice interior. Also calling the car a rebadge is unfair there are much better examples like the Cadillac Cimarron.

Then you will have to call the ES300/330/350 rebadges as well.

Same as the ES250 which has a different unibody for example the floor pan, firewall, hood, fenders, bumpers, A, B and C-pillars, quarter panels etc. are different. And it has frameless doors.

Hardly anyone does they just assume the ES250 is a straight up rebadged Camry but there is much more going on. Just like the ES models that proceeded they share almost everything mechanically but body wise there are major differences.
