Ordered 8000k D2S LED from China that finally came in after FOREVER stuck in customs or something. Also got the fogs and the 68 bulbs, but no way I can get to them today.
All in all, I would rate this as a fairly difficult, tedious job. Tore my hands up and lost three of those damn plastic clips and had to rig some pieces to hold some trim back in place---not happy about that!
I am pretty handy but this job is not for the larger handed person.
You will need a socket wrench only and have to remove the intake as well as a trim piece with clips on the PS and I actually just removed a trim piece with clips on the DS. I seriously don't think these trim pieces are made to be taken off. I was very delicate with them and they still broke. I would recommend buying (I will be going to Lexus tomorrow) extra clips.
All in all, I am happy---they look good. The yellowish look always bothered me and on such a high end car DRL's should be cool looking IMHO.
Honestly these were so difficult for me, I don't think I am going to mess with the 68 bulbs. Maybe the fogs...have to see how hard they are.
Here are the pics...1 and 2 are DRL only, 3 is high beam. They turn off when the auto lights come on. They are a little blueish, but compliment the OE bulbs nicely. I might think about upgrading the stock to 9000k, I don't know.
When the fogs get done and if and when I do the 68's this will be sweet. I also have rear LED's but they look like a PITA as well, I might pass on that.
Again another older post, but wondering which product scdroptop purchased? Really like the look and the fact that the bulb retained the DRL function and increases brightness on High Beam Activation. Any advice?

Me too! I've always hated the yellow DRLs, but can't afford to give up the high beam function....I live in an area with lots of critters wandering around at night (deer, bear, alligators, armadillos, etc, etc, etc), so I need to be able to see them at a distance. If I can keep my brights on my 2008, I'll be all over this!
How did you manage to have functional drl's AND high beam? This is a puzzle that I've yet to see anyone solve, unless you just cut holes and made your own mounts for drl.....parts? suppliers list? THX
There was a recent post, someone found a product LED DRLs with a decent high beam functional. My case, I am lucky to have a 07SC, and I just turned off the factory DRLs and installed a COB DRLs. The DRLs are so bright. Very happy with that.

I don't believe there is a solution because it requires dual voltage dual output bulbs. Both LED and Xenon are not equipped to do that. Adding an LED strip and turning off the DLR may be the closest thing to the modern look. Its probably best if you can find those beaded ones like the ones on later Lexus models. Then the high beam probably needs to be LED or Xenon which may be too slow to warm up for high beam purposes.
Overall though, converting DLR to non-stock is probably not worth the trouble in my view. You always have to deal with the downside in this conversion. In fact, yellowish DLR is more visible in a sea of 5000k natural day light and chrome reflections of the cars. So, for safety reasons yellow is probably preferred, but for the modern look it feels outdated.
I did this LED DRL’s but had to go back to halogens since I lost my high beams. Unless there are LED DRL’s that are now higher intensity when you add more amps to it (for high beam). I disabled the DRL using TechStream and installed a strip LED for DRL's.
