After a hiatus we returned to High Plains Raceway to put a lot of new things to the test. Its really hard to tell you how much fun it is to drive this car now, but this cell phone perspective should deliver a good sense of the experience. Its the first time we have been able to have instant power, pin point handling and no issues with overheating at sustained high RPM and high g's thanks to our new oil cooling system.
So many new things are present here, from our new track spec front upper control arms, to our solid rack bushings, hybrid motor mounts and complete EL Header/ Ti exhaust. The car is actually feeling fast everywhere and we managed to shave off 3 seconds from our previous benchmark (I would say with much inferior tires).
Still a lot more to come.

Our supercharged IS-F is normally at home on a road track... but we just had to give drag racing a try.
So it was my first time to a drag strip, and I couldn't get it to hook up as evidenced by by abysmal 2.1 sec 60ft time
That said, the 127.69mph trap speed wasn't too shabby.
I am sure some of our customers who are more adept at drag racing then us will soon be knocking off 10sec passes, but until then, here are some sights and sounds from our hiatus at the drag strip:
meeehhhh, I wouldn't sweat it rafi. the F belongs to road racing track, not at the drag strip...
I generally agree, but we do get a lot of requests asking what it will do in a quarter mile. Its just a benchmark I guess, kind of like dyno numbers, both are objective measures of the HP of the car.
It would be neat to see an SC car in the 10's though, which I think is possible with some serious drag wheels/tires, some launching skill, and a 1.4sec 60ft time. Hopefully one of our customers takes the initiative!

With winter setting in, I've gone into full-on track withdrawal! To get a small fix, I drove a Ferrari F430 GT race car last Friday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Pretty neat, but way too short to get used to the car's capabilities. Not to mention, it's difficult to learn a new circuit in so few laps with a coach constantly giving instructions. I could have used 100 more laps sans coach
It was still fun though, and sure beats blowing $$$ in a casino! The exhaust note of that car is so intoxicating!!
Cool video! What was the suspension noise coming out of turn 1?? Was that the suspension bottoming out?
Yeah, I get a slight rub on the front in turn 12 (there's a nice dip if you hit the turn in right) and also on Turn 1. My Penskes are setup fairly soft right now. I could add some bump stop spacers or stiffen up a bit to get rid of it. It rides so nice on the street though and I didn't have much time to tweak before or during the event.
LOL.. He was pretty cool overall though.. I think the problem was his statement beforehand was something about only wanting to get me the best lap time he could... The result was kind of like he was trying to drive the car vicariously through me, instead of letting me do my thing & pointing out ways to improve.
