MM glad to have read the review. I'm aligned with your impressions of the car in virtually everything especially regarding the ride, refinement, and quality. I'm shorter at 5'9 so the car's interior is plenty big. I too found little difference in the drive select modes and the shifter will take getting used to. I did find the car a little nose-heavy but hard to make any conclusions in a 10 minute suburban test drive.
Do you recall what your MPGs were? And I was told by my sales rep Premium fuel is required, but sometimes they are not very well informed.

I look in on Audiworld and there is a thread regarding gas mileage with the new B9 A4. As you can imagine, there are a lot of variations. Generally it seems a lot of drivers are getting 22-24 in town and 31-34 on the highway. And then a few report being disappointed at 15-16 in the city. Car & Driver got 22 overall in their test.
Thanks LexBob2. I will take a look. Agree with the variation and that's with any car. My wife drives the NX as her daily and she gets a dismal 18 mpgs. That's because her commute is only 1 mile and car has no time to warm up.
I'm consistently getting 24 mpg in my '17 A4, and I alternate from Drive to Sport. That's mostly city driving.
Re: the styling, I went to a car wash today and the guy that checked me in said "the S-Line package really does make a difference", so there you have it.
Why look at premium cars if paying for premium fuel is a deal breaker? I don't get this mentality?
Agreed, unless you drive a crap ton of miles AND the car you are considering gets less than 15mpg(Escalade, Lexus LX, Range Roonie, etc) Look at it this way, lets say you drive on average 30 miles a day, so that's about 10,950 miles a year. Assuming you average 25mpg, that's 438 gallons of fuel you buy a year. Assuming premium fuel is $0.50 cents more a gallon, that's an extra $219. If you are that big of a tight wad, go buy a Prius.
I get 12mpg and always looking for Shell 91 which is at least 20 cents more than Chervon or 50 cents more than Sams club which are within a mile from my house

You don't understand. Not all Premium cars require Premium fuel. I was just curious what the A4 2l turbo used and as MM kindly replied that it doesn't.
I'm not considering an A4. I am interested in what Joe finally chooses for his DD though.

Nice math lesson. You don't think we all know that? Why do the words premium fuel always bring out the trolls? I don't need you tell me what car to buy.
Hey guys let's keep it civil and respect each others' opinions.
Roger, and all, I've officially for the first time ever, bought a German car. For those who know me, this is a BIG deal seeing how much of a Lexus (and Toyota) enthusiast I am.
'17 A4 S-Line in Scuba Blue like the one below. In Canada, the S-Line is somewhat equivalent to the Sport package in the US, though with different sportier looking wheels. I also got Comfort Seating (ventilated seats and power lumbar in passenger seat too) and Driver Assistance package (BSM, 360 camera, RCTA, rear pre-collision and other active systems). I wanted the flat-bottom steering wheel but had to settle for the round one in the car (and deal) I got though the nice thing with the round one is it comes heated.
Congratulations on the new A4. On Friday when I had our Audi in for service I took a close look at the A4. The rep we bought our A6 from asked if I have to take one for a spin, but my car was just about ready and I had to get going. I really like the new A4.
