What's going on, I guess I'll re-introduce myself in this section since my other Lexus is a 2010 ES 350 (which we may be selling soon). I'm about to pick up a 2013 GS350 nebula gray and am pretty stoked about it! Everything is set, just gotta get the paperwork done. I did some research and I think I'm getting a pretty good deal:
2013 GS350 AWD, nebula gray, Premium and Cold Weather package, Navigation.
31,000 miles
$27,000
What do yall think?
Looking forward to contributing and learning from all of you.
I'll cya around the forum!
Riviera Red exterior, Flaxen interior
Pre-collision system and Dynamic Radar Cruise
Heads-up Display
Lane Keep Assist
Mark Levinson
Intuitive Park Assist
Blind Spot Monitor
HDD Navigation
Proud to be a new member of this forum. This is my first Lexus and I love it. Much smoother ride than any Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Honda or Toyota I have owned in the past. I've wanted a GS for a long time and opportunity presented itself. I will post some pics next week once the weather cooperates.
I wasn't really looking to buy a new car but I was bored and tried out the Cap One Auto Navigator. Right as I started looking at some listings I ran across my car. I couldn't believe the price and there was still 1 year factory warranty left. Carfax pulled clean as a 1 owner lease turn in. They dropped the list price to $24,900 as it had been on their lot for 7 months and the next morning, Christmas Eve, I showed up, negotiated to $24,000 with them throwing in brand new tires and brakes. Gladly traded in my 2014 Camry SE and an hour later I left a happy man! I only plan on tinting the windows and adding a 10" subwoofer. My tuning days are long behind me and I will gladly enjoy the smooth ride of a stock car.
New to the forum and new (to me) Lexus 4GS owner! Looking forward to modding (as I do all my cars) and enjoying this car for years to come!
1. 2013 GS Premium, Luxury, and Cold Weather packages with 19" F Sport Wheels (CPO bought with 44,000 miles) - In process of F Sport Conversion

6. Planned mods - finish F Sport conversion / Possibly RCF 19" Wheels or aftermarket 20" wheels / Moderate drop / Black out roof / Possible full chrome delete / Considering fabricating a full one piece mesh overlay to complete the one piece mesh spindle grill look for bumper - haven't seen anyone do this yet! Plus more mods I'm sure as I get bored haha.
7. Was considering a BMW 5 series and this replaced my Infiniti EX37-Crossover (Modded)

First & foremost I am really enjoying this site and the Lexus community.
My vehicular background: Straight out of Detroit I was destined to drive a land barge. I started off with a 1983 Buick LeSabre "Custom" Edition. The fuel gauge always read empty when I made right turns, they don't make that feature in these new cars :-(. Next was my Cadillac Phase. I drove a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance, 1990 Eldorado Biarritz, and a 2001 Seville STS. I loved the Cadillacs but the all required a lot of maintenance. During that time a had a 2001 Lincoln LS (worst car I ever owned) until my latest vehicle.
I am escaping my first and possibly last BMW, (currently for sale). I bought a 2006 750 LI (probably not the best intro to BMW) in 2013. I absolutely LOVE the way it grips the road and glides over the terrain like a jet flying through still air, (100 MPH is like 50 MPH in a "normal" car). I agree with BMW's slogan. It is "The Ultimate Driving Machine!" However, I purchased the vehicle in 2013 (when it was affordable) with 117,000 miles. Nearly $30k went into this car in the three years, 73K miles I have owned it. If Toyota can make a product that lasts without this kind of maintenance with this type of mileage, there is no reason BMW (especially with the cost) cannot produce something that holds up to the elite status and quality the company claims to have. The BMW engineers & manufactures neglected to put "quality" parts in this nearly $100,000 machine. For example, although the engine is strong the valve guides were produced with poor materials. The transmission is jerky, and inside the transmission case is a plastic piece connected to the mechatronics unit. This cheap plastic component is responsible for proper shifting of the vehicle? I am disappointed. This makes me question whether or not the car is worth keeping. Having read posts in the BMW 7 series forums, I found there are more posts with questions regarding repairs for the vehicle than there are posts asking about mods or even praising the vehicle. After doing a lot of research I opted to buy a Lexus.
My Choice: 2013 Lexus GS 350.
Exterior Color: Black without metallic flake
Interior: Brown Leather with black & silver dash & door trim
Features: Nav unit with Mark Levinson system
Drivetrain: RWD
Mods: LED Fog lamps, LED Lexus Logo courtesy lamps (still waiting on shipment), LED Puddle lamps under mirrors, still deciding on wheels, (thinking of 18" Niche Verona).
Future mods: wiring fog lamp control to parking lamps, bypassing the motion safety feature to access menus while driving. custom grille. rear window spoiler, trunk spoiler, softer leather seat skins
Other vehicles Considered: Chevy Silverado 1500, Honda Accord Sport, Honda Civic limited, Toyota Corolla Limited, Toyota Avalon Limited, BMW 428I, BMW 528I, Audi S-5, Cadillac CTS, Cadillac ATS, Cadillac CT-6, (If Cadillac would have produced these: Ciel, El Mirage, and Escala, I would have considered them as well.
I have had the Lexus a total of three weeks and I am happy with my decision.
BTW...I changed the stock halogen fog lights in my BMW to LEDs and the car threw a lamp malfunction code. I had to purchase resistors (that get extremely hot and melt anything in their path) to make the annoying trouble light go away. Don't even get me started on the P.I.T.A. angel eyes! Lexus...no issues!I in fact, the fog lamp job only took 5 minutes!

Reason: Correction
On 12.23.16, I became a GS owner (my third Lexus) and moved over to this sub-forum from the LS forum. I love this car! It's also the first NEW car I've ever purchased It had 41 miles on the clock when I took delivery and I'm up to 581 now.
It has the Luxury Package which was a must for me (coming from the LS430 with the Custom Luxury Package). I want to install illuminated door sills which I've already ordered. It's small (perhaps trivial) but something I like to see when I open the door. Tomorrow, I'm having the entire front end wrapped.
I look forward to many year of driving this car. It's a good blend of the IS and LS. Did I already say, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
hello everyone! just purchased an almost new 2016 gs 200t with 2500 miles. lexus certified, with an in service date of 12/10/16. so there is 6 years of warranty. msrp 49500 for 37100. this is my 4th lexus in 16 years. i have been thru bmw, mercedes, vw, and acura, but some how i always come back to lexus. looking forward to sharing and learning from this great forum. will post pics once i figure out how. do not hesitate to comment on what u think of the deal i got.
It's been awhile since I've posted in here. Unfortunately, 10 years later and after ~150K miles on my 2006 GS300 AWD, I had to say farewell. I traded it in for a 2014 Lexus GS 350 AWD w/ ~20K miles on it...Black on black. Will post pictures shortly once this weather clears up and I can wash my car. I did a bunch of mods to my last GS. (My HID fog lamp conversion .pdf is still collecting dust somewhere on this site.) I plan to keep this one completely STOCK. I know...sounds crazy. I haven't thoroughly checked out the mod thread yet, so maybe I'll change my mind.
Bought a CPO 2013 GS in July 2016, but it still feels new to me. I've been lurking around this forum since then, but just now joined. Here's my info:
1. 2013 GS Luxury
2. Silver/Grey
3. Nav / Mark Levinson
4. RWD
5. I don't think I have DRS
6. Does an infant seat count as a mod?
7. I considered the ES and LS and the GS F Sport. This car replaced a 2001 GS430 which I loved dearly. Before that I had a 1999 GS300, a 1999 Porsche 911, and a 2004 Yamaha R6.
