10 Photos of the 2016 Lexus RX That'll Make You Want One

Lexus and Toyota are making ugly front ends. The RX tries too hard with the side panels as well. We have all the journalist to thank as they said in the past Lexus Is boring.
In the boardroom they are probably thinking. Let's make our cars uglier each generation and see all those suckers buying it because it's a new model.
I cant help to think Lexus is like that good kid at school who got straight As but one day got teased and turned up with nose rings, purple hair and ripped jeans to be cool.

And guess what, I see lots more of the new ripped-jeans RX and ES models on the road, so that crazy styling must be working. Lexus wants to attract younger buyers, just as BMW and Mercedes are catering to younger and young-at-heart buyers with their smaller cars like the A, CLA, 1 and 2 series. Of course that means losing some more conservative buyers but hey, there's always Buick

Yes people are buying them only in certain markets. But they could have sold a lot more. Where I live Lexus ain't doing well, I hardly see the latest gen on the road while there are plenty of the last gen. in fact the last gen is so popular we can't stop importing them from Japan while the dealership collects dust with unsold lots.

They sold nearly 110,000 of them last year. I think they're doing okay...
I see many, many new ones every day around me.

They got to realise that US is not be the main market anymore for growth.
This just looks much better, and will still look good in another 10 years time.

The RX has never been a looker, that 2010 version posted above I think is pretty bad too, I preferred the 13 refresh, especially the F Sport. The current RX is a real challenge too I agree.
Interior or is a huge improvement though.

Actually, Lincoln is probably doing more conservative SUVs these days than Buick, though they clearly are no longer just rebadged Fords.

What Buick SUV isn't conservative?!

The Encore, for one.....it draws in what is generally Buick's youngest average buyer-age. Along with its less-expensive Chevy Trax cousin, its stubby looks, almost complete lack of overhangs, and turn-on-a-dime, park-anywhere size was almost unique among SUVs until other subcompact SUVs from other manufacturers started appearing in the last year to 18 months or so.

That vehicle looks pretty conservative to me lol.
A Nissan Juke...that's not conservative.
Buick makes very conservative cars, nothing wrong with that.

On the Encore, though you are free to disagree, you asked a question, and I answered it.....by Buick standards, the Encore is probably their least conservative SUV, though the Regal GS sport-sedan and Cascada convertible also appeal to younger buyers. But those two generally are not strong-selling products, while Encores go out the door as fast as they arrive. Even the Verano has a turbo version with a sport-tuned suspension....and, for several years, offered a 6MT.
Anyhow, don't want to get too far off the new RX.
