Is my paint damaged?
2014 is250 nebula grey.
Just notice the other day there are spots on my hood and it won't go away even after wiping down with Meguiar's Quick Detailer. How can I fix this? Can a professional detailer fix this?

Acid rain? Did you try clay bar?

The only thing I can think of is adhesive from tape over the hood few months ago driving through the rain for a long road trip.. but I didn't notice any spots until now. I haven't tried anything since I'm a novice when it comes to washing and detailing. If it does require a lot of work probably prefer to take it to a pro if this is repairable.

I would try clay bar first. If not, then hopefully some experts will chime in.

Impossible to identify the defects from the photos, but here is how I would proceed...
- Wash the car properly with warm water and car wash shampoo, then inspect the results.
- If still there, proceed with detailing clay and/or various solvents (isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, etc) to try to determine if it is an above surface contaminant or not
- If no progress is made, then use a fine polish on a polishing pad to try to polish the area
- If no progress is made, step up to a cutting compound.
- I highly doubt you will need to go this far, but the next step would be wet sanding. Do not proceed with this step unless you are experienced.
Let me know if you need any more clarification/details
