Here is the information we have been looking for. The receiver is in the Rear View Mirror

Any chance you have anything hanging off your mirror Shawn that might be blocking the signal?

Nothing handing off the mirror, but thank you for this linked thread! It confirms what Retroplay has told me previously when he altered his mirror LED. He believed that the mirror houses the antenna for the system. So this is something I might try to start troubleshooting. I see two "eyes" on the mirror; one on the front, one on the rear. Anyone know to what system these might be related?

Any chance that Retroplay has pictures of the interior of the mirror?

So there are some photos posted in the linked thread, but I can't really identify which is the antenna or even what point/where I'd like to solder an extension wire. Anyone got any ideas? Post 74. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...led-mod-5.html

I do not know. I do not know AT ALL, but I think this looks like an antenna wire. The one the green arrow is pointing too.

I was wondering about that also DashingDar. There is a good chance that the SMD pointed out in red is the likely antenna but I'd need a much closer look at it. The gray wire (green arrow) I thought might be one at first but I suspect that could be carrying power to some components in the front assembly, but once again I'd need to have a closer look and see where all that goes. For 418MHz it would be about 18" but for 315MHz it would be closer to 24" if it is a wire type antenna. Both are definitely possibilities though.

I think the SMD is just a light. I took the picture off the post on how to change the SMD's color. I could be wrong.

Here is a picture of the circuit board still in the housing. Take a look at the gray wire. It is white in this picture, but it really looks like it could be an antenna wire that runs the length of the mirror for maximum reception

I agree. It might be more obvious though if that bottom assembly were removed (or even more so if I had it in my hands). The part number is there, in case anyone has access to the drawings.

This must be contagious. What I've found is that it takes several seconds between an open sequence and a close sequence for the remotes to work.
