Default 2016 IS300 F-sport front bumper repair cost?

Hi everyone! New to the forum and impressed by the helpfulness of the community.

I'm looking to buy a used 2016 IS300 Fsport that was in an accident. Was hoping someone could share some expertise on an estimate of the cost to fix the damage.

Based on my limited knowledge, I need a new bumper, left DRL, left fog light and possibly some sensors

I agree gbgary about the hidden damage. At first I thought it wasn't too bad, but I'm worried about underneath the surface.

Default bumper damage

Take it to a body shop before you buy it. Then you have an estimate.

How much can you buy the car for?

I'd say the damage is in the $3k to 5k range (Canadian)

But you have to ask yourself, if the damage isn't that expensive, why are they selling it off instead of fixing it.

Below is a picture of damage to my car when it was in an accident (not my fault). This was about $5000 to repair. However I had to replace the passenger side headlight assembly which was I think about $1000 just by itself. My damage looks more severe than yours. My advise... get a repair estimate from a reputable shop (and add 50% contingency), make sure you get some discount on the price of the car (a car that's in an accident, even minor, will have some diminished value unfortunately... I'd estimate $500 to $1000 in your case (for example, my accident now shows up in a carfax report and as good as the repair is, it may still affect the value. Make sure to check that driver's side fender for any bends, bulges, scrapes since there may be secondary damage to it. To the person who said 'stay away', I would disagree as long as you get the inspection, quote & understand the value of the car.... it could be a great deal or a bad deal depending on the details. (In my case... I got a brand new grille and a headlight and bumper, freshly painted, with zero stone chips... so the cars front end actually looks a lot better than it did!). Good luck.

This happened to me too. I think the damage was in the 5k range. Replaced my bumper and both headlights and DRL's for a 2014 is F sport

absolutely. whatever is damaged can be fixed but you can't tell everything from this photo. get an estimate and make your offer accordingly.

I had an Obsidian Black IS250 (Not F-Sport), and it cost ~$4,500 to replace/repair :

- Front Bumper
- Left Headlight Assembly
- Left DRL
- Front Mounting Bracket

People are way too quick to just drop it at a bodyshop and let them bend you over on parts. If it's insurance covered then screw it who cares? But in this case, I'd be getting a full estimate from a body shop first. Use that bloated figure to your bargaining advantage. Then go source out everything you can on Craigslist/kijiji/wreckers/etc. Hell I have DRL's and an easily repairable F-sport bumper in my garage right now that I need to sell. For the 200$ I'd want for those parts, you'd already have the majority of what you need. Then let the bodyshop take care of the labor and painting to save yourself a pile.

Oh and there's no fog lights on an F-sport. Just a plastic insert there. And judging by the picture, there won't be much for hidden damage. There's nothing back there to break really if you don't have fog lights. It's possible you could have to replace the actual bumper impact piece, but I think you'd be ok in this case. Probably need the one headlight washer, but those are still installed on the bumper that I'll be listing for sale. In any sense that's what the body shop estimate is for is to determine what parts are needed.
