Default Why did you buy an F-Sport?

Sheer curiosity, why did you choose an F-Sport over the base?

I test drove a couple of F-Sport GS350's and did not find the F-Sport to be worth the extra money from a performance perspective, it seems to me like it's more appealing from an appearance perspective. I would agree that when putting it into the top Sport mode it certainly tightens things up, but I guess I don't really want my Lexus to be all that tight anyway. The base that I drive is more than competent on any road I've put it on.

It costs $10,000 more. I just like the look, I'm a sucker for anything Sport Edition model, from cars to watches, etc. Even phones, I used to call my iPhone 6S as iPhone 6 Sport.

And now my Phantom 4 drone has the Sport mode. I'm happy.

All depends on driving style and previous vehicles. I had the shortest test drive of my life in a base 4GS. It was boring and unresponsive after coming from a tuned E60 BMW 535. I went a half mile and turned around. I drove the F Sport and it was like a totally different car. It still wasn't up to the power and handling of the BMW, but it was much better (so much better, that I bought one). If they didn't have the F Sport option I would have ended up in a different car all together (Non-Lexus)

The looks helped too :-)

The looks alone did it for me, and then once I test drove the car I knew I wouldn't get the base model. To me it makes the 4GS stand out on the road, not just apart from the base model but from other vehicles as well (IMO).

I'm kinda glad I haven't driven one so I don't know what I'm missing lol. I bought my GS350 without even driving one before, purchased on ebay.

Actually, the F-Sport package is a $4115 option on the base GS350 RWD.

Did they lower the option price now? I thought it was $10K more.

It wasn't ever $10k.

I bought the F Sport mainly for two reasons:

Styling - I didn't care for the non F Sport front end

AVS - When I bought my IS I did not go for the F Sport. This time around I wanted AVS. You can get it with the luxury package too, but the lux package didn't have the front end that I liked and it had features like rear seat ventilation that wouldn't get used anyway, as my kids are too little.

-Better handling (VGRS and AVS, stiffer suspension)
-Aggressive styling
-Red leather option
-F-sport LCD instrument cluster
-Aluminum trim

Like mentioned earlier, I tend to get the sport package on all my cars.

Yes my FSport comes with ML and parking assist and all the FSport I've test driven do too, so I priced it base on that. Base model Vs. FSport optioned similar to mine.

I had a '15 non-F and now have a '16 F. In my opinion the F is like driving a totally different car due to the AVS & other sport suspension parts. Don't forget the AVS is active all the time making adjustments regardless of drive mode. The F actually drives much smoother than the non F in Normal mode because it rides very steady and is not pitchy even with aggressive driving and braking. in S+ it is just slightly noticeably stiffer, and that is only over a rough road. Even my wife prefers it over our prior non-F.

As for price, on a good lease deal, F sport is only about $50 more per month......a no brainer. I see a lot of people on this forum spending hundreds if not thousands to make their car "look like an F sport," when it probably would have cost not much more to have a real one.

Like the front end more, and the larger wheels.

(And USB is only available on the F-Sport #wink)
