Question 01 Seat Memory Wont Memorize Seat

I've been looking around on the forms and finding other model car forms about how to fix the seat memory settings. But, I cant find on how to fix the issue for the 2001 LS430 model or even the LS430 in general. (I've found the nightmare forms where the electrical systems go freaky!)

So I ask, is there a way to simply fix the memory settings so that they remember the seating position?

Some more information would be helpful. Do all of the other memory functions work, i.e. steering wheel, mirrors, automatic coffee refill, etc.? Can the seats be adjusted manually? If yes to all of that than you better hope rkw can provide you with some circuit diagrams to aid in troubleshooting, otherwise I think you're going to be out of luck.

One more question. When was the last time it worked?

Good luck and keep us posted...

Are you having problem with setting the memorized position or recall it?

To memorize the driving position, be sure that the ignition in "ON", and the transmission shifter is in "P" or "N". While pushing the "SET" button, push and hold "1", "2", or "3" until you hear a beep.

To recall the memorized position, be sure that the ignition in "ON", and the transmission shifter is in "P" or "N". Push "1", "2", or "3" to move the seat, headrest, steering wheel tilt and telescope to the desired position.

Please let us know which part of the above procedure that is not work.

Oh yeah I forgot that a lot of other stuff can be adjusted. As for the coffee, I'd stick with the Coke-A-Cola refill.

But uhh, the only other thing I can say about it is that when I did the memory thing and told my dad about it, he said it wont remember it for long has he had done it many times too. Set everything up, but after a few shut downs and start ups, the car forgets what you wanted again and messes up your order, I said I wanted a #2 with NO pickles!

I'll give it a shot before I leave for class to adjust everything and then set it to "1".

Also whenever you disconnect the battery, the car will forget everything including DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

on my car set #1 is my preferred position and is keyed with my smart key. set #3 is all the way up and back for easy vacuuming. set#2 is an alternate for long distance driving. each position could be keyed with a smart key, but sadly I can only afford 1 smart key.
