i removed mine after 1year of use. I have Ultra white and got tired of the black line that outlines each piece of film. Never comes completely clean. Don't miss them.
The shop that did my ceramic coating removed them. I have at least one rock chip on each side, and I only have 13,xxx miles on the car. Wish they would have left them on.
What is the purpose of these anyway? I've been debating taking them off.
Paint protection. Some test told Lexus that this area would be riddled with rock chips so they solved it by installing some clear bra protection. It's a nice factory addition but it looks like crap when the edges get dirty.
Noticed how much wider the car body is in that area? Those protection films are there for a reason. I'd rather have dirty visible line than rock chips that will look like crap.
My car when the previous owner had it rubbed up against a parking garage pillar and needed paintwork on that area of the wheel arch.
The Lexus dealer contracted bodyshop didn't replace that protective film and there are a lot of chips there now. I did touch ups with a paint pen in the fall. Defintely leave it on, it has function.
