Worth an offer?
While I'm waiting for my 2002 SC430 to be delivered from Florida, I saw this one listed locally. Do you think it's worth an offer? I don't mind owning two for a while! Higher miles than I would like but the timing belt / water pump have been changed.

If its local you can check it out in person. There is a wide range of feel and condition of a car that affects its value. There is a some difference between 2002 and 2006 even in how it drives. Only you can tell if the difference is worth the premium. 2006 is much more difficult to find in general and if features like internet access on the radio matters to you then 2006 has a big advantage.

Thanks, I'll check it out tomorrow. I was checking out the service record on LexusDrivers.com and the last entry says this:
Service: RIGHT REAR STRUT (LEAKING)
description: RIGHT REAR STRUT (LEAKING) ~ ~ ~ ~,CUSTOMER DECLINED SERVICE -CUSTOMER DECLINED WORK AT THIS TIME
Not sure how much that will be to have replaced?

You probably want to look at ball joints/control arm also ($830)
There will be a bunch of replies saying what a rip-off the dealership is (which is true) and how you should either (a) do it yourself; (b) go to Toyota; or (3) go independent.
But, for better or worse, this is what the dealership charges.

The 2006 has gen 4 navigation and blue tooth just like the 2005. You can make and receive phone calls that's it. If you want to play your music from your phone you will need a via unit,
[QUOTE=Bgw70;9820087]Internet access, did you mean it has Bluetooth, which allows you to answer calls, but I do not think you can play music.[/QUO

What I mean by "Internet access" is the ability to add another dedicated digital input on the 06 radio so that it can play unlimited MP3 music and thousands of radio stations on the internet. Specifically, accessories like Grom addon is advertised to work only on 06 and after. Since I have not tried it on 05 and before years I do not know if extra digital input is possible.

others have added aftermarket devices with the stock radio that allow phone connections and backup cameras on the early models too.
i personally went with the beatsonic and pioneer radio but still have the OEM radio on a shelf.
retro showed us how to connect an external audio connection where you can play music etc from his phone through the 2002 radio with the help of an aftermarket adapter, but he is the exception.
BTW, retro is now my neighbor but I have not met him in person yet. He is still getting moved in!
