I recently changed my sparks and boots at 80k.
I saw that I didn't have any major carbon build up. A few specks of black stuff, could just be dirt, and that was it.
I drive my car pretty hard like accelerate at 4-5k rpm before shifting.
I also just put in an oil catch can for preventive measures.
my car runs smooth like baby butt

2007 IS250 130,000 miles. Installed RR-Racing's catch can for the ISF and dump the sludge once between oil changes. Drive hard getting on the freeway to redline a few times a month. I have however had my transmission go out (blew 4th and stuck between 1-3rd) Installed a used one last week.

agreed. Seafoam in gas would do nothing for carbon buildup. But you can also add seafoam to oil and that could help a bit.
Its it's suppose to loosen any debris and it's should burn or flush out your exhaust or with oil change. 🤷*♂️

Taking to redline when the engine is at full temp is supposed to burn off carbon buildup as well. Figure if im running a techron type application it will help with breaking up and passing through said carbon
Walnut blasting was done two months ago so im at least good there.
Also studying on the 350 swap to just be done with it :P

Good thread. I appreciate those who have have posted with mileage, driving habits and upkeep.
I'm just under 100k now. Oil has always been done at 5k intervals; full synthetic. Premium gas has been used since we bought it at 40k. No issues so far. I do mostly highway driving with it and do my best to rev it out every so often when it's up to operating temperature.

From the guy I got to walnut blast my car he told me it's the same as any BMW but takes twice as long.
