What I meant (perhaps I wasn't clear....sorry) was that, IMO, both the RX and Q5 have conspicuous grilles...though the RX more so.
Glad you enjoyed it. I spend a fair amount of time on You Tube looking at auto-review videos, and just happened to run across that one.
anyway. fun ad! thanks for sharing.

I noticed this ad too. Not the first time they've taken a swipe at the RX either. I remember seeing another commercial where they advertised the Q5 as the cool alternative that can make you stand out among all the RX when dropping off your kids at school.
Even as a recovering VW/Audi addict, I must say that you cannot get me interested in purchasing the Q5 due to the size. I was the passenger in one and I recall that it had great performance, a gorgeous interior, and everything else going for it but it was simply too small. Whether sitting in the front seat or the back, I felt cramped and claustrophobic. Make it bigger than it is but smaller than the Q7 and now we're talking.
It also felt cheap compared to my 21 year old LS 400 and made the driver feel a huge sense of entitlement. She kept saying things like, "The driving rules don't apply to me because I own an Audi," or, "The cops ignore my speeding because I'm driving an Audi. You should get one too."
For me, the RX wins hands down. When I'm driving somewhere, especially with my son, I want to be comfortable. From what I've seen, it looks like the RX has every creature comfort I need and then some. At a previous job, a woman and her children would sit for hours parked in a new RX while waiting for someone. They always looked entertained, relaxed, and perfectly happy. Not bored at all. Can't say I can picture myself doing the same in the Q5.

Yeah, that was a cut at the Mercedes GL (or ML?)...hard to tell from the quick-images.
The best and most classic Lexus commercials, IMO, were done back in the 1990s, with the smooth-talking, James Sloyan, "Mr. Lexus" voice. That was back when a Lexus product was a Lexus, before the company got into sport-orientation.

The 2018 is essentially a two-row Q7. There's just under an inch less knee room in the back seat, and MORE headroom than in the Q7. The four of us: 6'4", 6'1", 5'11", and 5'4" (the 9-year-old) fit just fine in it. The overall legroom is actually better than the specs indicate, because there's no mechanism under the seat to block your toes. I can fit my entire size 15 shoes under the front seat, all the way until my shins contact the seatback. There's also more cargo room with all seats up (Q7 has a little bit more with the 3rd row down). It's definitely more spacious and more comfortable (WAY better seats) than our RX.

Since the ad didn't compare the two interiors, I thought I'd post them side by side here and let people decide. After all, in most cases, we spend a lot more time sitting inside of our vehicles, looking at the dash, than we do outside. These images are typical of the two interiors (I'm not going to post all of the combinations)

Thanks for the heads-up, but since that's a British/Japanese-market RHD model not built to American specs, do the American versions have the same 12-inch screen?

The more common glossy walnut wood trim brightens up the Audi interior much more than the dull open-poor wood. With Audi's recent trend to minimalistic interiors, the shiny wood is much needed.

While highly-polished wood can look classy in some instances, in general, matte, low-gloss wood trim is a lot more natural-looking and realistic.
