What did you do to/for your sc430 today?

I was done with replacing antennas, mostly I was embarrassed with the telescoping antenna. Outdated, hence i switched. Switched to a rubber ducky antenna…
An S2000 antenna to be exact.
Need some modification, very doable.

Thanks Coleroad, I am definitely going to try it. I'm going to order that antenna you sent me the link to.

I did the antenna replacement today. The plastic tail of the antenna would not come out as described in an earlier post. The mast and plastic tail came most of the way out, but the tail would not release. I tried several times and pulled fairly hard to try to get the tail all the way out. No luck. I had to remove the trunk panels and take the motor out. After watching a youtube video several times, I made a successful repair in about 2 hours. It really wasn't that bad.Anyway, I have a working antenna again.

Antenna Replacement
Actually the mast itself is really easy if your motor is good!! That is, my antenna would go up and down fine, but not all the way down when I turned off the car. If that's the same in your case it's really easy. The mast is $20 on Amazon.com, and you just need someone to press the AM + DISC buttons as they turn on the car. As the antenna comes up just pull it out and it will release. Then put the new one in and turn the key to LOCK and it will grab it as it retracts. Now it sits flush when the car is off.

Yes. I checked with a mechanic friend of mine and he said the book says 6 hours of labor. I don't know how it could take that long. That's $480 at his shop. I did it in 2 hours.

Eagerly awaiting arrival
Hello there SC430 lovers,
In 2016, I got a Smoky Granite Mica 2008 SC430 with 65K miles and about 2 months ago, I got rear-ended at high speed (I was at a stop). I owned that beauty less than a year and it was totaled. I've had the amazing fortune of finding a 2009 Silver Pebble Beach Edition with 36K to replace it and I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival via transport from LA to Atlanta. So when you asked in this thread what have I done for my SC430 today, I got everything ready to transfer title and get the tag. That's all I can do until it gets here and it's hard to wait! What a beauty!
