I called on the 2004 Gold LS430 with 20,000 miles linked on this site.. I spoke to the owner (not sure if he was a dealer) with very few pictures. Car looked good and was located about 1 1/2 hrs away. Was asking close to 16,000 big ones. Yes the mileage was great, but Gold and the high price was not going to work for me. 20,000 miles worries me somewhat as there is a lot of sitting and non driving which can be detrimental.. I'm sure it's sold but these cars are out there.

They are definitely out there, but they are getting fewer and far between. Even harder to find ones that have the service records at a Lexus dealership and have been driven every year and not sitting around for years without being driven at all. My ideal would have been a 2006 mercury metallic with the same mileage and history, but I haven't run across that yet. If I do, I might buy it too and bail on my mercury metallic before my wife kills me.

Drove it to work today for the first time. Amazing how smooth and quiet it is compared to my high mileage 430. I never had the pleasure of driving a brand new 430, but I can't imagine it being any better.

I love this photo as its a great comparison between the 6-spoke and 5-spoke wheel patterns...

Thanks. I think it really changes the entire look of the car. I still like both, though.

Both look good but the Silver is my personal favorite. I even think the 6 spoke wheels look a little better than the 5 spoke. If you're getting rid of your Silver one and there is anything that is better on it over the gold then swap it out first. It sounds like the gold one is probably in better shape anyway so there is probably nothing to swap.

I'm with you on the gold, definitely wouldn't pick that color but I would drive it if the car is a solid one. That's basically what I did with my Cypress Pearl, not my first choice by any means but it seems to be a solid one owner car and it's paid for. 80% of the time I'm good with the color but there are times in certain light that I'm not.

Congrats on getting a good deal on a secondary one. You make me want to keep my eyes out for another 430 just in case something pops up.

I quickly checked the carfax that was provided by the dealer, ran an autocheck on it, and checked the service records on the Lexus owners site. Everything looked good. Called my local Lexus dealer that services my current silver 04, and he said it checked out. Called within an hour and put the deposit on it. Then drove almost 4 hours the next day with my wife to go pick it up. The guy said he had been getting emails and calls about it all morning. After going over it with a fine tooth comb, I paid him for it and the deal was done. Very happy with the deal. I felt he probably could have asked for more than $13,900 considering the low mileage, service history, and excellent condition. I probably would have easily paid $17K or $18K or maybe even more for it. The 430 is a special car to me, and I feel very lucky to find such a good example. I've had a lot of cars and could drive pretty much anything I want within reason (sub $150K), but I consider the 430 one of the finest cars ever built. They aren't making any more of them, and the 460 makes baby Jesus cry. I was eagerly awaiting the 500, but that over styled, turbo-charged rolling abortion is so ugly it makes my eye twitch to look at it . So, I consider the 430 the pinnacle of the LS series. Not the newest and not the fanciest, just the best. The best example of the over-engineering, conservatively styling juggernaut Lexus used to be in it's prime.

Agreed and very well said!!

Agree Cypress is the best I'd also vote for Briarwood as a close second. However, if we get into a "which color is the best", the thread will go on for years. Any LS color looks good for different reasons.
