I am hoping to address the following 3 issues::
Throttle Response
Acceleration
Overall performance
I feel like there should be better throttle response/acceleration on my 2013 GX. I have never used a performance tuner and I'd prefer to keep it stock-ish. I know they are heavy trucks but I am unimpressed with this trucks ability to "get out of it's own way". I realize these are three separate issues but I am hoping someone can point towards some aftermarket product(s) to improve these areas. My searches didn't return anything very helpful.
Can anyone share if they've been successful using aftermarket tuner/throttle response products to wake these trucks up? Or maybe point me to a thread where this issue has been addressed?
The overall performance is pretty much as expected. The car is pretty quick for its weight. Go back a few years, this quickness was reserved for performance cars. My dislike is the electronic throttle. If you had a cable direct to the throttle body (as it should be) you would get instant response. However an electronic servo, controlled by the computer, means, you are always going to be second guessed by the computer, as to what it thinks you want. So mash the throttle, instead of getting instant response, the computer decides what it thinks you should want, and gives you that. Bad over computerized, too much tech, over thinking your driving. Getting pretty much standard these days. Too much tech where it should not be.
I am pleased with performance. I've seen several test claims online with 0-60 @ 6.8-6.9. It reminds me of acceleration just a tad slower than my old 2002 Maxima.
I personally have no interest in adding this but shot off an inquiry to vendor to see what they say about 460 compatibility since the topic of performance mods often comes up.
Vendor got right back with me but wasn't sure about figment.
"Do not know. Are you close to us in Owings MD where you could come by and have a look?"
EDIT: Didn't realize the pre-cats are directly attached to the exhaust manifolds.
EDIT2: From vendor: "The exhaust ports would be the same and it would bolt up there. Not sure about the air injection port.
You would have to cut the flange off of the back of the new header and weld your cat on to it."
