Default Ugly remote control

Who agrees with me that the Nx fob is kinda DULL looking (boring and unstylish) ...Looks like an aftermarket chineese copy.

Its is HUDGE and combersome, it can't even fit in under the radio stash without launching out of place on acceleration .

I mean should the FOb represent a bit the car your driving?

I had in mind something more like or better than the ford edge fob : http://www.fobkeyless.com/car-key-re...placement.html
Or better yet, BMW series 7 Fob ..

I keep mine in my pocket the whole time. I have a colorful silicone cover on and see only four buttons.

Or you can choose a nice leather bound one.

Wow...maybe you should start your own single thread about all your complaints about this vehicle? Did you just walk into the dealership and point and say give me that one without evaluating your options or looking at it at all?

After reading a good number of the OP's posts here, I was also wondering how much thought he gave to his choice of vehicles, and I was thinking that he probably didn't choose the vehicle that was the best fit for him.

I'm beginning to think that this is an accurate observation.

I agree. OP has made so many useless threads or posts of complaints.

Just like BMW, you'll need to get flagship models to get the "nicer" keyfobs. The LS and LC have the nicest keys in the Lexus lineup. Like others have already mentioned...you can dress up your current keyfob with a leather cover.

Since most cars have keyless entry and start, "nicer" keys aren't really that necessary since it really just stays in the pocket/purse. I think Volvo and Aston Martin make the best keys and don't see anything special about the Ford Edge keyfob, but keyfob aesthetics wouldn't be a factor to consider of whether I buy a car or not.

Btw...the BMW 7-Series optional keyfob (one with screen) is so dumb and needlessly complicated. Why would someone want another item to charge up every few days? Not to mention...the size of the key is insane and be annoying to carry. It's almost the size of the man's palm?!

Nothing special about the standard BMW keyfob...

Fob goes in the pocket, or wife puts it in her purse and doesn't see if for weeks at a time lol.

When user posts opinion about ugly key fob that Lexus has used for at least 7+ years, shows user' perpective.
My fob stays in pocket.
Fob has leather wrap with blue stitching and pretty blue strap.
Fob has FSport logo on back side.
Battery is simple to change.
Solid and lightweight.

^^^Yep, same here.
I don't have it dangle out of my pocket along with every car key I own like some people do to show off their possessions.
I have a leather cover like yardie posted.

Lazerboy, looks like the NX is giving you too much grief. You mentioned you were going to trade it in for a VW.

The fob has been like that since 2006(?) I think so it hasn't changed much-that I agree.

For kicks, I did a quick google search and some of these super car keys are nothing spectacular
(I agree that the Ford edge key is pretty cool though.)

Wait, you complain the lexus key is huge, but you mention the ford and 7 series key....those aren't small either

I think key fobs are like phones for some people. They want them to look stylish and possibly make an impression when you place it on the restaurant dinner table or any counter in a retail environment. There's nothing wrong with wanting a nice looking key fob that says "you've arrived."

You are probably right. In our case, we prefer just the opposite. We favor something more understated. We don't want to be showy or ostentatious. Our keys live in a purse or gym bag anyway and rarely see the light of day. I really want the most compact key possible because I don't like the big bulky key in my pants pocket on those times I have the key on my person. It is just not a status symbol for me.

I could care less. Just give me a small fob that works and lives in my pant pocket without being noticed.. Oh, Like the one I have! I can't remember when I used one of the buttons. It's only for the wireless entry.

Lexus offers an optional smart card key that fits in your wallet. It's about the size of two credit cards stacked. Just keep it in your wallet and you can unlock and open doors for your car. Way better than BMW's huge, clunky smart keyfob.

Just in case anyone is interested, here's a link to buy one for the NX:
