If you don't have an owners manual, you really should get one. It's a very interesting read to learn about an LS430. They are available free from mylexus.com. Just sign in and register your LS by VIN number. Then you can have them send you a manual.

[I have the manual, but that page is a perfect example why I cant find things in it. It is under the title "Keys and Doors". Which it isnt. I tried just reading the manual, but it puts me to sleep faster than Nytol. And if what you are reading is not what you are looking for then it isnt retained after 2 minutes.
That picture of the doors. Where does that appear, on the Nav screen? Never saw a black and white nav screen. Then when you get it going, how do you stop it, press what button?? The manual sucks unless you think in Japanese.
I have read the manual on the NAV system and cannot find anything using the index. Still trying to figure out how to put names to locations. It must be in there, but the index doesnt tell you where and the pictures are seldom what I see on my screen.

Please note there are 3 versions of 2004 Owner's Manual:
1. LS430 that were manufactured through December 2003
2. LS430 that were manufactured between January 2004 through April 2004
3. LS430 that were manufactured in and after May 2004
Hope they are a bit easier to use...

Here are all of the 2004 LS430 manuals in PDF. You can do a search for key words by clicking on the "Edit" drop-down menu, then select "Find". A dialog box will appear on the upper right corner for you to enter key words you want to search for.

I just checked the web site. They do allow you to order a hard copy of the manual. I rather enjoyed reading the hard copy when I got my LS430. There are so many things in the car, it was almost like reading a good novel, never really knowing what you would find out next. Within a short time you will know all about your car, or at least remember that you saw that feature in the manual if you need a quick reference for clarification. I also downloaded the pfd version, but It is not as easy for me to use as the hard bound version. I'm still more confortable with the book and I don't have to ask others to spoon feed me for answers. I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks (speaking of myself of course).
