Well here it is! It's a handsome looking sedan, save for the rear. As expected, I'm not a fan. I don't like the pinched look. Gives me Lincoln Continental vibes. Overall though the car looks good.
Also Audi ditched the MMI ****/touchpad for full touchscreen control (Audi first I think). The only physical control button is the volume ****. This should be interesting.
Rear end very similar to Lincoln Continental and steering wheel mimics front grille shape. Not sure about no buttons/***** though. Hopefully most used features can also be accessed via the steering wheel
If I'm not mistaken, this and the last A8's have 4 spoke steering wheels, not sure why they do that, the trend has long been 3 spoke....4 spoke seemed to be en vogue prior to or just when airbags were coming out......
hard to tell how much this one resembles an A4, but it seems like BMW and MB has all their models looking very similar nowadays. Personally I think the current A4 looks great, although maybe, just maybe, a little bloated, but not really...
I really like it from the pics, will have to see it in person to make a final judgement. The back is a little different, but it doesn't bother me. From the front and sides it's a really classy and elegant car to my eye. Curious how the touch screens will work and be received, but they certainly look nice and flow well with the interior. Gets a thumbs up in my book.
Its OK at best. The front end kind of looks goofy. The rear end looks like a Lincoln Continental. Interesting touchscreen route, no silly remote touch. And its nice to see the 12 cylinder survives.
By far my favorite picture. All this technology including tablets in front of the guy, and he chooses the newspaper.
I doubt there's much of a delay for the V8, at least how the article referenced it.
Whether it's available the first day or first month is immaterial as it's guaranteed unlike the Lexus. I'll believe the Lexus V8 when I see it. In any case, the Audi V8 will be available in the non-sport model, like it is now. The Lexus V8, assuming it ever comes, will probably be hidden in some ultra high dollar F model.

Performance and culture: the 4.0 TDI and 4.0 TFSI
Even more performance is on tap with the two four-liter, eight-cylinder engines that are to follow in 2018 - the 4.0 TDI with 320 kW (435 hp) and the 4.0 TFSI with 338 kW (460 hp). They share fundamental technical principles, such as biturbo technology and the Audi valvelift system (AVS). When the gasoline engine is being driven with restraint, the AVS deactivates cylinders 2 3, 5 and 8 by closing their intake and exhaust valves. This reduces fuel consumption and promotes efficiency. On the diesel, AVS operates one exhaust valve in each cylinder. It therefore manages the two turbochargers, which - unlike on the TFSI - are switched sequentially. For better filling of the combustion chambers, there is likewise an intake AVS on the TDI.
Under load, the 4.0 TFSI develops a characteristically sporty sound that is completely free from interfering frequencies. On the V8 gasoline engine, the e-tron and the W12, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) eradicates these. The system sends specific anti-noise to the sound system's loudspeakers. In addition, the V8, W12 and 3.0 TDI are fitted with active engine mounts that inhibit the transmission of vibrations to the vehicle body. They, too, generate out-of-phase counterimpulses - their effect is particularly marked when idling.
When I see the founder's car out front waiting for him, the driver is almost always reading a newspaper. Something to be said about old school, baby! (and the driver is not that old, maybe 45? retired trooper)
How many screens does one car need? This is getting ridicules a bit. Also HVAC touch controls are crap compared to physical buttons because physical buttons take a lot less space in the cabin.
