Hard power steering

2002 ls430 thenmore I drive the harder the steering gets I check the pump and it's working, anyone knows the function of the power steering air control valve? I was told it can be faulty.

maybe try a JY OE pump and see if that helps low speed. Could just have a worn out pump.
