Coming up next week - was sort of surprised when the dealership said to pick up a loaner and drop off the GX on Thurs. @ 9:00 but it would not be done until Fri. afternoon. What cost am I likely looking at? Vehicle is a 2013 Premium with no issues I am aware of other than the dreaded lean (sometimes). Any TSB's or recalls I need to know about? Thanks!
No idea on price... you will probably need to reach out to dealer to find out cost and detailed list of items.
Here is what is listed in the owner's guide. Looking in past maintenance records on my vehicle a dealer in CA claimed they lube the driveshaft but I can see that was service paid for but not rendered.
Do you drive off-road or tow? I'd get an itemized cost. As an example... replacing AC filter costs less than $10 and takes about 1 minute to change. I kid you not.....it can be done blindfolded.
Got it done today - great price I think, $378 and that includes new wiper blades that I requested. Heck just the Mobil One is pretty expensive. Just about even labor/materials. Can't complain. Nice loaner, courteous folks and a free Starbucks card to welcome me since the dealership has new owners. All my services have been there but it changed hands.
Very helpful ... thanks. One question for our GX460 2016 at 30k for which I'm going to have the dealership do an oil change and I'll handle cabin air filter and engine air filter ....
Do I need to have them or somone else lubricate drive shaft and re-torque nuts and bolts (I'm assuming I can't do it, but haven't researched).
I got quoted $1400 today for this 30k service from Lexus of Fife. Since i can do some of the items myself, I'm going t skip the Lexus dealership for this as I don't need the transfer case or differential oils changed yet.

I curious how Lexus of Fife came up with this number? The labor is about two hours, how much they charge per hour?
Run the other way, $1400 for 30K service is day light robbery. down load the service manual , and take it to the advance auto parts pr auto zone, all the products will be around $100-$110. and give it to any mechanic , he will do it for another $100 or $150 max.
Yeah, I've declined and just opted for an oil change for now. I've already done the filters, key battery and check the mats on my own..haha.

I didn't ask for details but the service advisor indicated that its the first major services and all filters and fluids would need to be replaced along with tire rotation. My guess is they would do everything in this post. The only reason i'm returning to that dealer is because they (their vendor) did the paint protection film for us when we bought the car brand new and its peeling up again, second time in 3 years but thats a whole other topic about sloppy paint protection film work.

Just curious, how did you get these records? I have little history on my 470, I joined the Lexus drivers whatever created by the manufacturer. found nothing

If it's not on the lexus dealers website then you have a couple options.
1) contract the previous owner(s), but have to find them first.
2) Get a carfax and see where it was done. Call those locations and explain your're the current owner and want the service records for the vehicle. I did this with ours because it was serviced at the owner's luxury car dealership network, but not a lexus dealer. porsche dealer was more than happy to email me the records with the previous owner info redacted.

Great idea, we actually found the cards from the dealers the previous owner used, we can call and try working backwards from there, thank you for that suggestion.
