Just got a 2015 gx460 premium.
there is a small black unit on top of the steering column.
I cannot find anything in the owner's manual about it.
I can see 4 small red leds inside it but cannot figure out what this is - it looks like some kind of indicator.
So, I need the forum to enlighten me.

No, it's probably an aftermarket alarm of some sort... pics might help.

Sounds like you might have a Luxury model with the rare Driver Support Package.

I believe that is the Driver Attention Monitor.

"The Driver Attention Monitor with closed-eye detection is an available system designed to detect if you are not looking forward and will signal an alert if it detects an object ahead."

Yes it should be the driver attention monitor came in GS also in 2013 and discontinued in the later models.

The OP has a Premium, so this would be a VERY rare option... (I thought it req'd a Luxury)
OP- Let us know... we're curious if that is in fact, the 'box'.

Only a single post so not sure.

OP: Do you have adjustable suspension? If so, that would indicate you have a Luxury model. All literature says "Luxury" model is required. AFAIK you couldn't order Driver Attention Monitor as a standalone option either.

Thanks, all, its the driver attention monitor. I do have the luxury package and did, after more searching, even locate the elusive, secret button that is poorly identified in the owner's manual. the button, for those who are interested, can be seen if you lie on your back in the driver's side floor, and look up to where the brake pedal attaches to the frame.

I think it is the cancellation button for the Pre-Collision system in Driver Support Package.
