Oh my goodness. I think I may have cleared the DTC codes as I was clicking on stuff in techstream to refresh. It did say that no problem persists at this time!
theres all this bare copper wire just sticking out from around the fuse! I'm going to purchase a voltmeter to test everything since there are so many fuses. I don't want to keep taking them in and out all the time.
Anyone know which number to call at Best Buy to tell them about what happened? I guess I'm gonna take my car to the dealer for this door thing and see if the Airbag thing happens again. I guess I shouldn't have cleared the coded huh?

Is vehicle under any kind of warranty? If not... probably not a big deal to take to dealer first....although you may want to wait until Best Buy finishes the work on their end. Always an off chance something might get fixed when BB addresses their issue.
Ughh, what a nightmare. Don't even know where to start at this point. Should I call best buy and say their exposed wire shorted the car? What if they ask for proof? OR go to dealer first?
I cleared the codes so no codes now, maybe just drive 1 week and re-check codes with techstream? Or take the car to BB and say their exposed wire caused a short and now passenger door wont lock via touch sensor and airbag like was briefly on? Ughhh
No warranty on car
seems like fuse checker is too big to check the smaller fuses according to reviews and looking at pics. May have to get a volt meter
Goto the dealer and as soon as they'll see the open wire they'll blame it for the problem. Let them give it to you on paper and then contact bestbuy corporate with the proof.
My exterior door handle broke (driver rear door), does anyone know how to access it? I took the interior panel off and it looked as if the metal for the door blocks the back of the exterior door handle. I have purchased the part but stuck on fixing it. Thanks for all your help!!!
Hey everyone, so long story short -- we had a new neighbor move in who has been sort of a pain and they ended up slamming their car door into the front passenger side door handle of my wife's 2015 GX and scraped the chrome off. In an attempt to be neighborly, I've agreed to try to get it fixed without going through insurance (the neighbor will reimburse) but if I can't find it or get it done easily, then we're just going to have to go the full insurance / dealership route.
Just looking at the handle itself, it looks to me like the plastic chrome colored piece that needs replaced is just an insert or cover, but I can't seem to locate that part (I see the full door assembly and cap covers, but not the longer insert). Can anyone help me identify this part (preferably with a part number) or does it have to be purchased with the full handle assembly? I guess step #2 will be figuring out how hard it is to actually replace the part, but that's an issue for another day. Any help is extremely, extremely appreciated.
It does look like a cover. I pried on mine and stopped when it took a bit of force. Looks like the handle is around $200 from dealers and the chrome is not sold separately.
Thanks everyone. I was afraid it was going to need the entire handle assembly and that indeed looks to be the case. Appreciate all the help and info as always!
