I'm tempted to get this holder.Take the suction cups off and use black hook and loop velcro and install in black dot shaded at the rear view mirror area.

Does the Plastidip stay on well when pulling the EZ Pass off and pushing it on the windshield?

I've got a TXTAG toll pass here in Texas. It's shaped like a 1"x2" credit card with an embedded chip. Put it about an inch or so below the mirror mount. High enough so it can't be seen from the inside yet low enough to be below the dots on the windshield. Have yet to test if it works there, but it was mounted according to the instructions that came from the toll agency.

All you need is the microchip to be 'seen' by the transponders. But, some toll tags have the microchip attached to an antenna that is built into the adhesive tag - others don't. (See image below)

You might be able can cut out the little microchip from the toll tag and tape just the chip to the inside of your windshield up where the dots are located using a ¾" x ¾" piece of clear shipping tape you can get from a UPS or FedEx shipping store. Or, you can tape the microchip to the back of your rearview mirror and run a test to see if the transponders will pick it up. I know it will be picked-up on some vehicles. Another place is to tape the microchip on the inside of your sunroof glass or the upper side of the sunroof shade (if you can gain access to it)...unless you oftentimes travel with the sunroof or shade open.

Some toll tag microchips have a built-in antenna.

I've been following this thread wondering what's the big deal about attaching the "EZ-Pass" to the back of the windshield and now (thanks to Joeb427's link) I see that the EZ Pass is a heck of a BIG deal! Wow! What a hunk of plastic! I have no useful suggestions because here in Texas we use an unobtrusive 1.5" square sticker with the chip embedded in it. Nice thread, though!

When I bought the car the dealership gave me a Lexus E-Zpass holder that suction cups to the windshield. Mine is in the far right bottom corner. Hardly noticeable and works perfectly
