Question Lexus LS Grab("Oh ****") Handles in a GS?

I hate how our grab handles squeak when you grab it. I think it's embarrassing in a luxury car.

I scored a set of 4 mint condition 2009 LS grab handles on eBay for $65 including shipping. I think the grab handles are a standard size. Looks like they might fit, seller also offers 30 day return with no restocking fee, so worst case I send it back.
Also the leather wrapped center and chrome is a nice touch.

Nice! I loved how the grab handles in my LS were leather wrapped and often wondered why the GS with the Lux package didn't come that way. Let us know if you're able to swap them out.

I took off one of the grab handles in my car and compared the metal clip that attaches it to the frame and they look almost identical, looks promising for this mod.
This is what I'm talking about circled in red:
This mint condition light Gray set can be found here for $67:

Can these handles really hold a body weight? I'm scared one day it will just fly off.

How do you take off the grab bars? Just pull real hard like?

There is like a cap/cover you have to remove on each side. I put a flat head screw driver in at an angle near the corners. Took me 5 minutes to get the first one off and 30 seconds for the next one. It's a pain in the *** until you figure it out.

Interesting...my grab handles are pretty smooth/no squeaking. The leather wrapped feature is a nice touch though

I like to refer them as the "Oh ****" handles

Great news,

It's a perfect fit and exact color match. I didn't install it yet, just holding it up with my fingers, right side is not pushed up flush against the roof lining that's why it's crooked in the picture.
I compared it to the original GS handles and they are the exact same dimensions.

My in-law 2009 ES grab handles are stitch leather wrapped without chrome accent. My 2013 GS handles are all plastic and look cheap, must be cost cutting from Lexus, putting cheap and cheaper parts and hope owners won't notice.

The refreshed Fifth gen LS takes it one step further and has wood in the center. I check every once in a while, but if I find an affordable one with bamboo wood, I'll upgrade my upgrade
The leather with chrome accent looks so nice, better than the plastic Honda Civic grab handles we currently have.

Looks good and great finding.

Too bad the color doesn't match with our F-Sport Headliner

The LS F Sport has a black headliner too, so you can probably find black ones, though they may be harder to come by.

Are they "real" leather or Nu-Luxe?
