Default ignital Switch Requires FOB insert

My FOB will work to open and lock the doors, but the ignital will not turn - I must inset the FOb to turm the switch. I changed the battery in the FOB and that did not good. Any ideas?

I appreciate the answer here but it is not fully responsive to my question. Perhaps it is because you assume I have more knowledge that I actually have! My threshold question is whether there is any connection between the ability of my FOB to remotely open the car but inability to allow me to turn the ignition switch without inserting the key fob. Perhaps you are saying they are two seperate systems and that yes I need to reprogram the FOB to be able to turn the ignition without inserting the FOB?

So,. does this mean that key code, smart code or wireless code needs to be reprogramed? And why would it fail all of a sudden?
