Don't see any cuts on your hands yet. You are good! I would recommend mechanics gloves for everyone else. I got a few cuts on my hands just removing the seats and brought them to a Pro to finish. Think the hardest parts were transferring the seat heaters and the seat belt strap button on the upper outboard area of the seats.
Also, be gentle when removing the seat back cover. Looks like you got past there OK. Those plastic clips near the top can break easily.
Thank you Floptop04 and Jabberwock for the nice comments.
The drivers side is finished and reinstalled!
Will post up the rest of the pics from today, not many more.
i did not do any reassembling pics because it is just the opposite.
I have great admiration for anyone taking on a reupholstery job. Not easy to do right, and have it look good. I don't have the patience or hand strength for it.
why do you think there was so much rust on the metal parts? It would seem that since the seat was inside the car it wouldn't have been exposed to water or other rust inducing stuff

good question,
the car lived in Orlando and Miami, plus I think the prior owner left the roof down and was rained on a few times.
here in Florida, we get these out of no where storms that last 10 min.
she might have spilled a few coffees in her time also.

this car had abusive parents! LoL ;-)
maybe even just that humid salty ocean air . Then Make the carpet just a little damp. Kinda the reason most houses in Florida don't have wall to wall carpet in the house.
did you consider replacing the carpet while the seats are out?
I'm thinking of getting the Camel colored floor mats to go with my Saddle colored seats like yours - whaddaya think?
