Default Best Buy Install??

Hello, Thought on having BB install a stereo in my 2006 SC430 with backup camera? They have several units.

Only my opinion, our cars can be a pretty difficult install especially with wanting the doors to work properly after.

I would look else where.

I agree that it's a very difficult install. I took mine to Best buy and just happen to luck out that the guy heading up the installation department used to work at Lexus! Further, I joined their total tech club or something like that and they didn't charge me for any labor saving me over $1,000. It took them two days, but what a fantastic job. System fits in perfectly I have all new speakers steering wheel control still work. The only downside is that the navigation door is now closed and the navigation system is pulled. I used JVC speakers and a JBL head end.

I would offer another opinion, there are SO MANY how-to YouTube videos out there that will walk you through installs of most systems, including back up camera with no-drill options and only a wire-tap for function off the reverse lights. You can save hundreds to thousands and know it is done right. Taking apart trim to route wires is easy, many videos showing how to do it, just need to take care as older plastic gets brittle. Nav and Radio doors care must be taken as well, but these are solidly built systems and I have had no issues with removing and reinstalling.

Good luck!

Hey Gregory,
Have you checked out the folks at Five Star Car Stereo? I think they're located in Clearwater, FL
They have a number of SC430 installation videos on YouTube. These guys seem to really know what they're doing.
I have not used them -- but have reached out to them about making mods to my system.

I had an installation done at a Fry’s electronics (similar to Best Buy) but the installer was a real experienced installer who had done another SC430 a few weeks prior and I have had no issues . My only concern with BB is getting some high school kid trying to do the install and screwing thing up.

Man I loved Fry's. That place was awesome.

Very sorry to see it go belly up.

Hi, I am looking at a 2023 SC 430 that needs antenna and all new stereo as it does not function, blown speakers. Can you tell me the approximate price you paid for your new system installed so I can budget that into the purchase price?
