I have 2024 TX 350 base and put 1k miles on it already. Anyone in here feel the brake so soft and spongy? The brake is so weak compare to my old honda pilot.

I'd take it to the dealer and have them test drive it, a soft brake pedal could be a real problem...

Reviews online say brakes are soft. Especially compared to semi-metallic pads like my last German car had.

My car has 1500 miles in 9 days and the brakes are still not bedded in. Try doing some harder stops and do a bed in procedure to get a good layer of pad deposited on the rotor….

car now has like 3400 miles on it and there are still machining marks in the rotors front and rear. the brakes seem to be gentle (assuming ceramic pads) and I bet this platform needs to be beat on a bit or just in general needs a good number of miles to properly deposit some pad material on the rotors to get them to bed in properly.

some of the reviews online reported a "soft brake pedal" but the stopping distance figures show the brakes are plenty capable. coming from a 6 piston caliper equipped Q7 with massive semi-metallic pads and rotors up front the brakes are not as grabby, however the brakes are not concerning in the TX as far as I can tell.

anyone have any more experience with the car or anyone else care to elaborate?

I have 18k miles on mine. Lots of local driving. I absolutely hate the brakes. As others mentioned, they do stop fine but definitely do not make me feel confident. I always feel like I'm going very deep into a stop before they grab. I'm actually considering swapping out the front brakes for something with more performance which I have never done on a vehicle before.

as soon as I need new brakes I am going to look and see if I can get a grabbier pad put in. something semi-metallic would help. there are definitely ceramic pads in right now which is evident by the absolute lack of dust the brakes make.

i have 550 miles on my TX 350 AWD and at first I was like damn am I going to stop in time, but then just last weekend I went into the mountains and I feel they have improved a lot.

I always thought the brakes on my Pilots were spongy. Not enough to keep me from owning 4 Pilots, but the braking distances were long and they felt mushy to me.

I think the two posts above may be onto something here. I've never had a car with Ceramic pads before. From what I've read on sports cars that use Carbon Ceramic brakes, it seems that you have to stomp on them harder to get them to bite. Maybe this is something similar? As FlynIFR notes, I kind of feel the same way. I'm pressing down on the pedal like I have for years and not slowing as expected, so I eventually press more aggressively and the truck just stops now! It may be that some of us just need to learn a bit different braking technique? I have never been hard on brakes. I typically get 60K - 70K on a factory set of brakes. Perhaps I need to learn to brake more aggressively?

I'm going to have to do some break checks.

This is good to hear. how do your rotors look? Concentric grooves or still have machining marks on them?

not sure if it's because the card is heavier. I had a very close call yesterday almost rear end someone cut into my lane. It definitely could be better.
