Default The "Gee, that sounds really nice on my 2400 watt ML system"!

I stream Tidal music. Many of you have other hi res streaming from other places.
There are times where this system just shines....there is detail, there is bass, and and the LS500 Luxury vibe shines thru.
Its when its engineers must have been smiling.

I'll start:

Drummer Steve Smith track "The Spirit of Dun Dun" which is a solo drum solo just sounded great on the ML. Cymbals were crisp and bass nice and tight. From the album "The best of Steve Smith". Also on the album "the light beyond" with Frank Gamble and Stewart Hamm.

A bit more notable is "I Want you Back", a classic Jackson 5 song reimagined by the group Lake Street Drive some of you might have heard of from the album "Fun Machine EP". Real nice bass opening.

If you think your LS500 is not "Bass worthy", listen to these songs with a neutral bass and treble settings (Flat in the middle setting) and let ML do the work. Not bombastic but tight reproduction.

Try "Take 5" version by Kenichi Tsunoda Big Band. Nice modern take on the classic with a real clean recording.
The ML shines.

Glad you love the sound I'd like to hear your system at some point but the watts spec wars need to end. 2,400 watts means your stereo is drawing 200+ amps sure lol.

Sounds pretty good for a Samsung kit.

"Year of the Cat".....Soft rock classic by Al Stewart. Why this pick? Some old classics sound better than others and this song has been rattling around since the Fall of 1976 heard on clock radios next to the bed, beach radios, and I am sure many other places but in the LS500 it came up form a Tidal Mix and I there is so much information have missed over the many years. Lovely song and its fun hearing it in depth.
The song is the title track of his 1976 album Year of the Cat, and was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, in January 1976 by engineer Alan Parsons. Some good stuff was recorded there and Mr. Parsons has had quite the career! While he was forced to share credits on "Dark Side of the Moon" he had done most of the work.
The strings and acoustic guitar really pop on this classic tune. Perhaps at age 14 I loathed it as it charted high and was on high rotation by many radio stations but over the years that dissipated and is quite pleasant!

IM not trying to say no other audio system is is better or can' t be fully enjoyed. This is just a few of us chatting about enjoying our common machine and extracting pleasure from it.
For those relying on Sirius/XM the compression is so high the quality is far lessor than a Compact Disc. Streaming via phone and wireless apple car play is my preferred path. The Blutooth is really quite good in this car Enjoy....
