Default Bad Brake Actuator Disassembly

All - photos below of a bad brake actuator. As i've read, not serviceable as far as I can tell. Perhaps the tiny black/white O-rings in the little circuit board sub assembly. But you have to clip some wires on disassembly - which could likely be soldered back together. Perhaps the seals that are down in the block of the device - not sure, because i haven't been able to remove anyone of them (Yet). The series of 8 small and 2 large circular details at the top of the assembly are electromagnet actuators that drive the rods (assume attached valves). All in all, interesting assembly. Last pic is the comparison with the new part - look the same.

BTW, the number on the part is not the part number (i confirmed with Bell Lexus that i bought the part from). The part number on the box is supposedly the actual number. He verified by opening up a few more boxes. So hopefully i have the new, upgraded version in the car.

Post on the remove and replace to be posted soon.

Curious about the brake actuator failure. If I may ask, what is the year and mileage of your car? How often was the brake fluid changed? Thanks.

Why did you bother to take it apart if you knew it wasn't serviceable ?

2010 with 42,000 miles. Just bought about two months ago. Don’t know history. Given what I saw during my replacement, possibility it was done before.

I’m an engineer. I take things apart and try to figure out why it failed.
