Default White discoloration on dash

Greetings! I purchased my RX in April 2024 and noticed I have some white discoloration on my dashboard around what I’m suspecting is the airbag. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I use a sunshade during the day and my vehicle is garage kept. There are a few other white area along the dash but they are not as severe as this area. In addition, I have noticed the black rubber around the hood & door jams appear to have a white discoloration in certain areas as well; almost as if parts of it are drying out. Attached are photos of my dash for clarification. I used a clean, wet, microfiber towel to try to wipe whatever it is away but some of it is still present. Is this powder from the airbag? Has anyone experienced this?

Do you have lotion or sunscreen on your hands?

I did not. The microfiber towel I used was moistened with filtered water only. As I searched through this forum I discovered this is a common issue with Lexus vehicles dating back several years. It’s apparent Lexus did not change the materials they use for their dash boards 😞 I never knew this dash material was soooo sensitive. Now I need to find a product that MIGHT help cover this eyesore up. Any suggestions?

Stop using a microfiber towel it grabs the plastic and causes damage use a cotton cloth instead. Most vinyl cleaner/treatment products will reduce the scratches visibiilty this is my personal favourite I like the low gloss look

In order to protect my dash from further damage from the sun/heat I am considering purchasing a dashboard cover/mat. However, they aren’t very attractive and takes away from the beauty of the vehicle IMO. I use a sunshade religiously and my car is garage kept. Is there anything else I can use to protect the dashboard besides leather cleaner/protectant?
