Default 2016 RX350, 46k Miles - Am I overpaying?

Great forum! Just joined since I am looking at buying a 2016 RX350 from a private seller.
  1. 46000 miles
  2. No options.
  3. Very good shape.
  4. Maintained by the dealer. Have all records.
  5. New tires, battery.
  6. One owner.
  7. No accidents.
  8. The seller wants $25,000.
  9. KBB, CarMax, Carvana, Edmunds all sites say average for this vehicle is ~$26-$28k+Tax/Title/Reg.
  10. Will check out Carfax but I am sure it will check out well.

I am thinking of offering $23.5K. Reasonable or too much?

If everything checks out on this car, I would say 25k is a great deal. You could offer 23.5k and see what he says. If he says no, I'd say ok, 25k it is.

Sounds like a fair price to me. I would always consider having a mechanic go over it just for one last reassurance. It doesn’t cost much for my piece of mind.

Very subjective matter.

At a Macro level, price seems really good.

Thanks for the quick responses. I appreciate the wisdom and knowledge.

UPDATE:
I just came back from test driving the car. The car had everything working and has no issues. Drives very smooth.
I also checked out CARFAX and My Lexus website. History shows all work done by the dealer except may be a couple oil changes at the local Valvoline shop.
Next, I am going to take it to my trusted mechanic but I don't expect him to find anything major.

Does this model year have any common major known issues that I should be aware of so I can ask my mechanic to focus on those items?
Thanks for the help.

Timing cover leaks and droning at low rpms.

The car was sold before I could make an offer. But thanks for the replies.

After you test drove it, it sounded like you wanted it. Should have put a down payment on it to hold it. It sure sounded like it wasn't going to be around long.
Sorry you missed it. Good luck on your search.
