12V battery on 350h 2024
I have a question about 12V battery on NX350h 2024 model
First battery died after 2 months dealer installed new battery
Now I just notice that after 4 months this one will die too(i think)
Isn't battery supposed to get charge when you drive on highway?
I start with 98% charge and we did 120km on highway
Got back home and the 12V battery shows 66%
Something isn't right here
I am not a mechanic but this seems off to me
Anyone have same issue?
Thanks
Now I got my battery to 100%
Car is left sitting on my driveway
Two days later battery went down only 1%
It is at 99%
Seems it is all normal
Will see when I start driving how fast will go down again

OP, lots of threads and discussions already:
Summary: no fix from Lexus none in foreseeable future.
Band-Aids: turn off ACC, use trickle charger, get larger capacity battery --none solve the problem

We’ve had our 2022 350h for 2.5 years and no issues.
The dealer warned me that we don’t drive it enough. We have 13,600 miles on it. Mostly around town. A few trips that are over several hours drive on freeways.

That could be one reason why you are OK. We found that idling the car would help charge the 12V battery much better than driving it on the highway.

My 450h+ is similar, but I drive more than you. About 2.5 yrs and I'm at 16777 miles (27000 km)

I am coming to the conclusion that it is not the battery that is the problem - it is the charge programming. The YouTube by lsft linked above is very useful but takes time to go through. I have had my 12v battery down to 20% after a trip of well over 1000mls. It seems that apart from very brief periods while normal driving the 12v battery is not being charged. Apart from using a trickle charger or by sitting in READY mode but engine Not running, there is no reliable charge of the 12v battery. The very low voltage measured on the battery while running is not enough to charge the cells, however the traction battery will provide that 14v charge while in Ready mode without engine running. A battery monitor is needed to view this happening. ,
The only period of charge (from ~34% to 46%) is at 18:36hrs. Driving during the day produces only spike charges and leaves little charge in the battery.
