Has anyone repaired a defective ML amp themselves?
I'm trying to find this amplifier (in working condition) 86280-0AW60, but it's either 3K CDN or people offering repair services on it for $500 CDN or more.
I'd like to know what exactly are they repairing on it?
Thanks in advance!

Takes me back many years when as a teenager I used to repair and build Amps.
First would be to make sure it is the Amp and not the source or switching of the source.
90% of the time, once you open, you can visually tell what went wrong, a bad solder, broken trace, blown supply etc. Once in a while a power mosfet is blown. I am not sure if ML Amp is single. double or multi-layer board. The complexity of repair changes. Having the circuit diagram with voltages on it helps.
Seems like paying $500 is the least expensive option.
Have you checked with LKQ or similar salvage shops. LKQ has a large inventory in USA. Also check with Asian suppliers like Amayama.

He found a local shop here in Montreal, so hopefully they're able to fix it for a reasonable price.
Thanks for the info Salim!
