Is this LS 430 worth it? Any opinions would be really helpful
2003, 85k miles. Dealer asked $8700 OTD, ended up agreeing to $7600 if everything looks ok after a PPI
Timing belt needs to be replaced
The steering wheel tilt function doesn't work at all
Has a few dings and scratches you can't really see in the photos
Interior was overall kinda beat up
Another issue I noticed when I drove it, I tried to punch it and it just kinda did nothing and stopped accelerating for a second. Other than that everything felt normal.
I don't know. Buying an inexpensive 430 is, I would submit, a false economy. Faded headlights and a shoddy interior are something you're going to wish you didn't have. Parts are getting harder to source, and many are NLA. If you can save up a bit more money for a car that has been maintained and loved, I think you'll be way, way happier in the long run. (And an LS430 will last for the long run!!!).

Yes and no. Any LS 430, if taken care of, will last forever. The price is too high so you could use the timing belt as a bargaining chip. That, in some markets, is worth $2,000 but less if you DIY. The beat up interior at that mileage is suspicious, maybe it has more mileage than you think. But I would try for $5000 AND they do the timing belt. BUT make sure they do the belt and all the pieces associated with ti. Go to the shop when they have it open so you can see they actually did it and ask for the old parts back to prove it.
Does it have a check engine light on? The timing belt could be postponed for a while. My concern would be the lack of power you’re describing. Although they were too fat to ever be considered fast, they usually run good. My concern is there is some kind of problem hiding. Maybe it’s not downshifting like it should or something? I don’t know, but if it was taken care of at all, it should run good. Is this the only one you have driven? If it’s way slower than it should be, I would stay away from it regardless of anything else.
