Default Going trade in 2021 Vert to 2021 Inspiration Coupe

My local has an 2021 Inspiration Coupe low miles (500 miles), I am thinking to trade my 2021 Vert, I bought brand new back in 2021 and now at 25000 miles. Back in 2021 I always want to buy 2021 Inspiration Coupe, but the one available was 2000 miles already. Right after I signed the paper for the 2021 Vert with 16 miles, one Inspiration coupe with 100 miles pre-own available for sale. What a bummer! So now locally they have one available. I will go tomorrow to see if they are willing make a deal on my terms or not. I love my Vert now, but I am more worry about the soft top when time to replace it. Some guys on this forum do a research with dealer, and the cost for the part only around 14K not including labor. Hopefully everything works out, I will out of the 2021 Vert and in with the 2021 Inspiration Coupe.

if the sc430 is any indication, your fears of the top replacement is unfounded. Lexus convertibles never really have issues with their tops. Heck, these sc430's are all over 20 years old now and vast majority never had any issues with their complicated hardtop mechanisms.

In comparison, the LC's soft top is much simpler in design and execution. Plus I recall they did something a test of something like over 18,000 cycles (way more than what the projected lifespan of the vehicle will be... if you opened and closed it everyday for 365 days, that's still 50 years of top operation!) and no failures.

Interesting about the soft top, although I've seen some say they have had issues with the Coupe also (glass/carbon). For me the Coupe doesn't offer any major difference over the Vert; I don't drive overly aggressive, also not AWD, not really more storage (recently had to disassemble the stock on one of my rifles to fit in the trunk), not much more backseat space. But I do look for reasons to drive with the top down and that's the main attraction, plus the sound and uncommonness of the vehicle. Case in point, driving on Woodward yesterday were plenty of Vettes, BMW's, Audi's, Porsche etc. but no LC's. I like the difference. Best of luck!
