Default Did I get the wrong ignition coils for my '03?

I'm about to replace the rear ignition coils because cylinder 3 (the funnest one!) is triggering a P0353 code with a solid misfire. I ordered the coils from Rockauto, but now I'm wondering if I got the wrong ones, as there are conflicting Denso part #s. When I went to purchase it off the site on Monday, it said 673-1312 fits, so I ordered those and they got here today. But after digging into the internet for info to double check everything is right, I'm finding people are saying the correct # is 673-1301. I went back into Rockauto, and when I do a search by that part #, both that part # and the 673-1312 show up in the search results. Is that because 1312 is superseding 1301 (it says "only 2 remaining" for 1301, so I'm leaning towards this being the case), or did I just get the wrong part? The description is a hair different with 1312 saying "Stick Coil" while 1301 words it as "Coil on Plug". Everything else appears to be the same. Both have the heart symbol by them indicating they are top sellers for RA when I search again by car. Here's a screen shot of the search results:

1301's were made in Japan (the ones I had)

1312's are made in China

I recently ordered 1301 and was sent 1312's. They may be phasing out the 1301.

That stinks. Chinese parts will have a higher failure rate I guess.

Yes, I now remember coming across your post (the only place I saw the new # mentioned) when I was doing research on part #s, and it was from just last month, so the changeover must have just started recently.

Sucks that Denso has gone to China for production. RA still shows they have 2 of the old ones (if that's accurate and they don't substitute), but that won't help since I want to change all 3 of the back coils while the intake manifold is off. The other 2 coils may last for years to come, but I'd rather not take a chance considering the amount of labor to get back there.

OE coil is $100 shipped from Amayama. Your problem is more likely failing oil control valves not a bad coil. Swap two originals around see if the misfire moves.

If it were one of the front coils, I would have tried swapping it out with another one right away since that would be super easy. But considering it's the center back coil, it would be way too labor intensive and time consuming to test out that way.

The Denso coils I got from RA were only $53 a piece. The front valve cover gasket is seeping pretty good, so I got everything needed to do that job since I'm going to be into the rear bank that deep anyway and I'm sure the back gasket is just about as bad.
